I've had insurance give me quotes on vehicles with just the general information about it. No vin needed. To activate the policy they needed a vin but otherwise a quote really shouldnt need it.

Yeah, you can get a quote now. Once you have the VIN, the insurance company has everything they need to lock in an accurate rate before it's built.

Sometimes the vin # will show safety items which could possibly lower the premium or possibly increase the amount.
