Oh, things have changed for sure.

Search forum for Bad Dealers, Scum bag, Price Markup or any other similar term you can think of.

Really just depends upon the business ethics your dealer chooses to operate by. Certainly there are some despicable conscienceless dealers out there who will do anything to make an extra buck. Plenty of posts here relating to that.

There are also many quality, ethically guided dealers, who operate honestly & fairly, even without a contract. Hopefully yours in one of the later. You will soon find out.

Obviously, due diligence should be done on potential dealers PRIOR to doing business with them. Talk to the right people, reputations are hard to shed.

Good luck!

Just ask them if they will honor X plan or is it just a straight up msrp then?

That's a great way to politely ask if they plan to screw you over!

Even if you aren't X-Plan eligible, you'll get your answer as to whether they plan to gouge you with extra nonsense without asking that loaded question. You'll probably hear either A. They don't honor X-Plan or B. X-plan should have been set up at the time of order...but your *real* MSRP question will get answered.

It's Wyoming, what else do they want?? If it isn't belching black send it back!
Our gas prices are so low, no one seems to care about Hybrids. I just want it to flat-tow behind the motorhome.
But we have enough wind to send any smoke all the way over to Chicago.

I'd have a conversation with dealer confirming they will sell for MSRP. Would have though you would do that while researching dealers to order through. But what is done is done. So talk to the dealer, hope for the best. If it comes to the worst, your best recourse is public shaming if dealer. Good luck.
Be careful because while my dealer did not add anything to the truck, they added their BS $750 Dealer/Paperwork Fees and weren't budging. I asked them why? They said because you are buying from us. Well, you can bet I ordered a second Maverick from another dealer and will probably get a third Ford (F150) from the other dealer too. Sometimes a dealer can cut their nose off to spite their own face. They did not prep the vehicle very well either - I drove off the lot with 46 & 47 PSI on all tires. WTF. They did NOTHING except put their decal/trailer cover advertising on my truck which I removed from my truck before I got home.

Why give dealer idea that you are thinking he is going to charge more than MSRP. You are still negotiating the sales price????
