Assuming I get my truck someday, and after I've linked it in the app and used my points, is there an actual reason to keep the app? I won't ever use Remote Start from the app, not really interested in another app in my life or phone if it's not terribly useful. So... is there some actual reason to keep it? Codger here, have obviously owned a zillion vehicles without a related app.

Oh, and Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🎄

I have never used my app. In fact, I never connected to it. No loss as far as I am concerned. I have close to 17,000 trouble free miles on my hybrid. Oh, and I'm a codger too. By the way, your join date to this forum is the date I picked up my MAV.
Merry Christmas.

Last Truck Ever,

Same Question here. I don't have the Ford Pass app downloaded. I would love to know what you can do with it. I only use the AppleCarPlay feature. If anyone here uses the Sync3 system or Ford apps. Please let me know what I'm missing out on.

I was mostly interested in Alerts when my Perimeter Alarm is set off. I added the Perimeter Plus Alarm with Motion/Shock sensor, so I get notified if it gets set off(i.e. someone hits/tries to break in to my truck.)

I occasionally use it for remote start at work where the Fob doesn't reach far enough. As well as logging oil changes.

Edit: Forgot it also shows your vehicle location with GPS.

Not necessary but sure is convenient. Lock your doors if you aren't sure if you did or not. Or Start it up to cool/warm when in a parking lot 5 mins before you get to it.

Necessary? Is it necessary to drink my own urine? No, but it’s sterile and I like the taste!

I've had the FordPass app on my phone since I first bought my Maverick on 27 January 22. It does more things than start, unlock, lock, and horn and lights. It stores your vehicle information, notifies you of any messages Ford sent you, or vehicle warnings, and any updates to software, how many FordPass points you have, and It also lets you know if you have any engine warnings, tire pressure, oil life, odometer reading, how much gas you have in the tank, and distance to empty. It also saves your VIN and license plate number.

I don’t use the lock, unlock, and remote start, but use it for just about everything else. It’s a convenience feature, but not required.

Short answer - no, you don't need it. Once your ford points are on your account there is no reason to install it.

It is a convenient way to access your ford account and also get real time information about your vehicle, but there is nothing there you can't get on the ford website or in the vehicle itself.

It is nice because if the car throws a trouble code you will get a notification on the app. You will also get notifications about things like recalls.

I have been using the hell out of the remote start feature which I didn't expect but with the cold it's very nice to get into a warm car. What can I say, I'm old and like my creature comforts.

did you add the Perimeter Plus yourself? i have heard it's a simple install. also, does it come with another fob or do you only get the key that comes with the truck?
