Am I the only chump waiting for a replacement battery cable? I'm on week three, dealership says they're waiting for Ford to ship parts. No loaner and payments continue.

From the little I think I know. The cable is aluminum and can't be soldered. Cold weather seems to compound the problem. Ford won't give the dealer any info on availability.

I hate to hear about your situation, that is unfortunate regarding the downtime and no loaner.

Mine was dead this morning, the first glitch regarding this issue so far. I had purchased a Noco Boost jump starter earlier this year, anticipating this as a potential issue. The jump starter successfully got me going and the Maverick started afterwards unassisted. I put a charger directly on the 12V battery at the underseat location, but based on the charger's meter, it appears to be close to full charge. I think I have the dreaded cable/harness issue but there is no use taking it in before the holidays, knowing there are no parts and no-doubt limited staff.

I will pursue getting this resolved as quickly as possible via the dealer, but I don't have long patience with vehicles that strand me.

I too am seeing voltage dropping quickly. Checking the voltage at the battery with a voltage meter then checking voltage at the pins under the hood will be an indicator of the bad cable/lug. A good cable would return very little voltage drop. Good luck

Early on (when parts were harder to get?), Ford said to repair or replace the cable. Now with the TSB, they are saying to replace the cable.

Does the TSB call out specific build dates? Does anyone know if this was corrected on later builds? Thanks for any input. This forum is great for getting info.

If there is no harness available dealer should repair the connector, no excuse to keep your truck sitting for weeks/months with no loaner

Possibly, my battery was fully charged when towed.

I went to the dealer one week prior to my truck having to be towed. I was trying to avoid the long wait that others mentioned.

On a positive note, the longer the truck sits at the dealer, the closer I get to utilizing the lemon law.

Agreed, something would be better than nothing.
