Bought a XL and I think I'm feeling bad about it.

I wouldn't be ashamed, you have an open canvas to make it how you want. Enjoy your new vehicle and make it your own. (y)

I have cruise control on all four of my vehicles. I have never used it. But I would put different rims on your Xl.

Heated seats and steering wheel is sweet. I waited over a year for my Maverick and never dropped anything and got what I wanted. Did not want buyers remorse, love the truck, no regrets

The reason I went with the XLT was for the cruise control, after I bought it I am glad I did for the other things that came with the package, but I recently put winter wheels on it & they are on a set of steelies, I think I almost like the steelie's look better. Enjoy your XL, the Maverick is an outstanding vehicle.

that’s a nice looking truck, no shame at all. I ended up ordering XLT but for the longest time I had insisted I would get a shadow black XL for $19,999. Nothing wrong with that at all. Maybe change the rims and you good to go but I actually like the steelies. Congrats and enjoy

You got the best compact truck on the market in the best color. What's not to love?

Do you really need any of the stuff you get with an XLT or Lariat? I got an XLT because I really wanted cruise control and the locking tailgate. Other than that I could give a crap and didn't want a bunch of extra stuff that would break later.

Drive it as-is for a while, then re-evaluate in a couple months.

Really just personal choice as to what/what not to do from this point forward.

Most important, enjoy the ride! 🤠

I'm with most of the other commenters so far. Get it simple and add what you want to it. I love simple!!

I'm a huge fan of paying the least you can for a vehicle and adding what you want over time. Cruise control would be the first thing for me. It keeps your payments low and gives you something to look forward to. :)

Now after driving and feeling it - I say I really enjoy driving the car it but I feel terrible bad about buying a trim-version so basic - kinda ashamed.
It's called buyer's remorse. You'll get over it.

XL is good... and you don't have to look at the awful blue jean seats, white door panels, and orange accents of the XLT. Your truck probably looks sharp, black on black....

(I'm a bit the opposite... I like lighter colors with beige interiors... but I live in the hot DESERT)

You can buy factory Cruise switch and enable it with Forscan, you can buy the locking tailgate as the wiring is already there, you can find wheels of an Escape, Bronco, Maverick, C-MAX, Focus.... lots of really good OEM wheel options without even going aftermarket.... the only thing you can't buy is the folding armrest for the rear passengers...there really isn't that much the XLT offers over the XL.

It's supposed to be just basic transportation no matter how much crap myself and others have added to it. Enjoy it for what it can do, and since you don't have a gussied up version you can just put it to work and not be overly protective of it. Others won't be saying "Oh, geez too bad it's an XL". They'll be saying "Hey, that's one of those new Ford Mavericks...pretty cool!".

Hi guys. There was some time I was after a Maverick but here in NJ there are no vehicles available and it seems there won't be for some time.

It happens I needed a (second) car out of the blue because my wife found another job which is further from home, which lead us to purchase another car.

So that was my clue to have my Maverick.

Drove one hour to PA to find a black XL Ecoboost FWD - which was everything they had - and I bought it. (eve though I had to pay an extra for it)

Now after driving and feeling it - I say I really enjoy driving the car it but I feel terrible bad about buying a trim-version so basic - kinda ashamed.

I look at that truck and think If I should try buying new wheels or something else to make it look nicer but I'm not sure about putting money on top of a XL.

What do you guys think?

If you are going to get snow tires for winter driving ... put them on the steelies and get something nice for summer rides
