That's badass! Thanks for the infoMy concern with the "buttons in the visor" approach (or even a remote control in your car is that if someone breaks into your car, they can get into your garage easy-peasy.
The Smart Garage Door Opener solves that, and adds a lot of cool functionality for $50. It took me about 5 minutes to install, and another 5 minutes to integrate with my Apple TV and iPhone. It also works with Google Assistant, Alexa, and SmartThings if you're not an Apple family.
Now I can just say "Hey Siri, open the garage door" anywhere my phone has a network connection (or in the living room where my Apple TV resides), and within seconds it's opening. I usually tell Siri to open the garage when I'm about a block from home, and it's open when I pull up.
Other cool features in their proprietary app (works even if you have the home automation stuff enabled) is that you can set it up to automatically close the garage door at a specific time in the evening (in case you forget it's open) or to open it at whatever time you leave the house in the morning.
Best $50 I've spent in a long time. My wife thinks I'm a genius for getting this installed and working. Don't tell her it was stupid-easy!
I used a tiny glue dot on his back he’s not going anywhere, I’ve had multiple figures up.I still do not have a permanent resident in my dash cubby and will share a few of the failures:
Mr. Bill
Stay Puff Marshmallow man
Buster from MythBusters
Skeletor
Pretty awesome! Similar to what I have with my "Vivint" security system. My concern with the "buttons in the visor" approach (or even a remote control in your car is that if someone breaks into your car, they can get into your garage easy-peasy.
