Can you elaborate on what you mean by “clear coated”. At $500 I would be interested in that but want to make sure I understand what that actually is. Is it similar to a ceramic coating?

thanks!
As I understand it, it is just another layer of paint essentially, but a glossy clear coat.

Clear coat is really just for aesthetics with a little bit of protection (not much). Most vehicles on the road will have a clear coat. The Maverick should already have a clear coat on it, but apparently Ford really skimped on the paint with the thinnest possible layer of clear coating.

For anyone interested, Ford Accessories now has the PPF listed for around $360 and install is $60, so you can order and get it done at your dealer.

As far as the hard door handle, this bothered me on my road trip in my XL, not so much when I am around town. I thought about getting a wrist-sweat band for long trips.

Maybe @Muslogy Auto can create a more elegant solution for a pad/cover for the door handle ?

Thank you for mentioning us! Do you mean adding a pad to the door handle to prevent knee hitting that door handle? We would be glad to make something for that

Please, something padded that matches the Lariat trim that covers the door handle would be awesome. Long trips with your knee against the bottom edge can get uncomfortable.

Shout out to J.C. Lewis Ford in Savannah, GA.
They turned out to be great despite a rocky start with a sales specialist that is no longer there. The sales specialist that took over my order, Tony Ballew handled everything great once the tracker showed my Mav in production and he kept me updated on when it was build and received.

They even advised me I was price protected without having to mention it and got the interest rates from the order date 10/11/21.

Due to computer issues they were not able to have me complete the paperwork on 10/28/22 when I went in to pick it up, but they graciously let me take it home until there systems were up and I was able to officially sign on the dotted line on Halloween.

I guess there is a reason they have been around 110 years, I would recommend them to anyone in the area.

Just a couple day later on Nov 2nd I had to drive down to Miami for work and a retirement celebration for one of the founders of the company I work for. Throwing my new truck into the fire on it's first trip by driving 1000 miles and in Miami traffic.

This is the first vehicle I have driven with adaptive cruise control and lane centering and I must say, I don't know how I did long trips without it before. Once I learned to trust the system it made it much more relaxing to drive. Found setting the following distance to closest distance works best in stop and go traffic, But at faster speeds on the highway setting it a couple steps out led to better performance and less sudden jerks from slowdowns.

The B&O sound system sounds great compared to my 2015 Chevy Equinox, and I may even rethink Sirius XM for long trips or just get around to making a playlist finally.

Only problem I had is not the truck itself, I can't get the Motorola MA1 to work and allow for wireless Android Auto. will work on that more this weekend. But the wired Android Auto worked great, love having maps on the bigger 8 inch screen. Have not played with much more of the available apps yet. related I do like the wireless charging when not plugged in as it works even with my slim case and PopSocket on it.

I will add dash pictures later, but MPG was an impressive 35 ish for me driving about 80mph most of the time. Not often you want traffic jams to raise your MPG, LOL. Befor ethe trip in just city driving I was getting more like 45mpg.

I'm a big guy at just over 400 lbs (lost over 50 lbs since ordering the Mav) and the Mav is a comfortable ride other than having my left knee on the hard door panel for too long at a time.

Only mod so far is a center console organizer, though I will get a tailgate assist and door sill protectors on this weekend hopefully.

Also forgot to mention, I have been stopped getting in or out of my Mav 3 times in the first week asking what it is or compliments on the color and look of it. I love talking about it, so love sharing.

I have included a few pics from the purchase and the trip, will add more later this week or weekend.

The Maverick isn't equipped with wireless Android Auto, even if you have the wireless charging pad. On a positive note, that's one nice truck you got! Congrats!

Thank you. The Motorola MA1 dongle is what allows the wireless Android Auto. If you search this forum for it; you will see many have used it successfully. I just have a bad dongle. 😆 I actually have contacted Motorola and they are sending a replacement.
