XL Cruise Control with an Adaptive Cruise Control switch?

So I skimmed the threads about adding cruise control to an XL and I mistakenly purchased a 2020 leather Transit wheel thinking it’d work. The wheel has different switches than the guides and the actual mount on the wheel is totally different size for the wiring. I managed to get the left switches functional through Forscan (menu, back, okay, up, down, Siri and left/right). However, the cruise control switch has CAN and LIM on them as well as volume controls. I can’t find anyone else that’s posted about this switch (one other user in the OP shared a slightly different switch). All of the methods in forscan I’ve seen cannot get this switch to activate. Note I don’t care about adaptive cruise, as far as I care they’re fake buttons, all I want is cruise to work. Am I outta luck and should I just get the switch in the OP? Anyone got any help with making what I got here work?? Thanks I’m advance.

From what I remember it won't work and you'll need to purchase the appropriate non adaptive switch. Also that's not even the American switch set and from what I understand the LIM button serves a different purpose than our cruise buttons. That's from a UK Ford I believe. The wheel will still work fine you just need the right switches

To piggyback on this, you definitely have the Euro switches which is a speed limiter and NOT cruise control.

But to answer the original questions, YES you can have the Adaptive cruise buttons and it will function as regular cruise control if you follow the Cruise Control DIY guides here. The other buttons won't do anything until you put in the adaptive cruise values into the IPC.

I fear I'm hijacking this thread, but what did you need to get to enable adaptive cruise? I assume you needed to get a front-mounted radar assembly, but what else? If you have a thread where you documented this here, please link.

Check the thread linked above. There's a ton of discussion on there so I recommend reading it all then ask questions. I have it working on an Ecoboost XL minus the Electric Brake Booster.

Yeah, I looked at the link and was seriously impressed with the directions in the first post. Looks better than many print instructions. Big kudos to @baaron for providing that.
