Manual Slide Window is $155 stand alone on XLT. Can it be installed after Delivery?

I've seen a few XLTs that are equipped the way I like and I might bite. But they lack the Manual Sliding Rear Window. Can that be easily switched out? Has anyone taken delivery of a Maverick without a rear slider and added it? Can the dealership do this with a non-slider truck they have in inventory?

The sliding rear window in an extended cab is not all that useful. It's not all that easy to open from the front.

When I had a single cab truck with rear sliding window it was used all the time. It really helped with air circulation and was easy to open and close. When I had one in an extended cab it was not very useful. The other windows more provided adequate air circulation and were easier to open and close.

But to add one in the maverick you will have to replace the rear window. It's not that complicated to do but it's definitely going to cost more than the $150

Thanks Dimes. Understand you aren't a fan. I have reasons for wanting and needing a rear sliding window.

The question is if it's something a dealer can do after delivery. Obviously, I could take a sledge to it, and then get SafeLite to install a new one that contains the sliding portion. Just wondering if it's something dealers have the capability to do.

There are after market rear sliding windows for the Maverick.. I honestly don’t remember the name, something like breeze. It looked good, cost was between $300-$500 bucks. Give google a try. And it was full size, not the small one I ordered..lol

I checked out the Breezer... It's about $550-750 depending on options. But you have the trouble of stowing the pane. It's also a fully in or fully out deal. Don't want that. So, I'll keep looking.

from the prices I've seen, not sure I'd want the dealer to do it........makes the $155 extra look like a super bargain. $750 was cheapest I found running the part number NZ6Z-6042006-A. One place had it at over $1000, on a brighter note, the powered version is only like $50 more, I think that was a lariat option.

It's better to have it in the order. Parts are in very short supply.

Thanks Don. That's the kind of information that I was looking for. Basically, if it doesn't already come with it, it's not getting it.

After seeing the price of the back glass, I’m gonna add $0 deductible glass coverage to my auto policy😳

In my short time with my Maverick, I have noticed that in the rain the rear window gets streaked with water but the slider portion mysteriously stays clear. Like magic.

Is the powered slide a basic addition of a rail mounted worm gear, cable, motor & switch?

A different prospective on wanting a rear window. I currently drive an explorer sport trac that has a larger power rear window. I never use it for ventilation. Whenever I use the window it’s to load things like trim or longer pieces of pex piping. Material would end up at the bottom of the passenger floor and barely hang out the back window. I ordered a maverick XLT with the manual rear window for this reason. It makes loading lighter and longer materials so much easier, slides right in and don’t have to worry about tie downs.

Yes most dealerships will change things for you, I would ask any of the ones you are looking at w/o the slider to see what the actual cost is & decide at that point if’s worth it to you. I myself like my manual slider and was happy to find one with it (since I didn’t order my truck, bought off the lot someone didn’t take), however it wouldn’t be worth me adding afterwards (unless my insurance company allowed me to upgrade šŸ˜‰)

I wanted the sliding rear window on my MY23 XL order, but the new configuration required also adding CP360 or something like that for another $650. I didn't want to spend $800 on a small manually sliding rear window.

Bummed they made this change, because I wanted the window for my dog.
