My Lariat Rapid Red, First Edition, Lux Pkg, CoPilot 360 arrived on 10/12/22 after waiting 409 days. Thought I had all my bases covered with Price Protection, Sales Mgr signed off on the Dora along with my signature last year, but when it came to signing the papers, I mentioned the Protected Price back in July 2021, a difference of $1890 of increases over that period of time, the General Manager says, our policy is to charge the MSRP on the window sticker at time of arrival, & we'll give you a IOU which when they receive there rebate from Ford, they will cut a check for me for that amount. My feeling is, the rebate the dealer will receive is not the same as $1890 difference when you figure Ford's MSRP vs Ford Dealer cost? I have emailed the Finance Manager stating what I am expecting as final rebate. We shall see what happens in the next 30 to 45 days. Also, the dealer added "Theft Protection", what is commonly known as "Window Etching" I think? That was $199 I did not authorize, the reply was "We do that on all our cars". Not good. And then I raised the question of the additional sales tax I'm paying since they are charging me full MSRP on the new higher MSRP, amounting to an additional $350 approximately. Again, sorry, that is on you. I'll see how this plays out in the next 30 to 45 days, I don't have a good feeling. Love the truck, no complaints, & averaging between 38 & 45 mpg. Sometimes on short trips, three to four miles, 55 MPG.

Other companies and dealers change oil, rotate tires, and service trucks. Once you have the keys, tell your dealer thank you for the truck but you will no longer be utilizing their services for any reason.

Hope the $2,000 today was worth it.

I didn't tell my dealer, but this is exactly what I'm doing. Good advice.

The price protection that the dealer receives is based on the invoice price, not the MSRP. So the amount will probably be different (but it should rather close).
I have heard of some dealers doing this, and actually sending the customer the protection amount they receive from Ford. Hopefully that is how it will work in your case too.

30-45 days is the correct timeline for the dealer to be reimbursed by Ford.
I'm not surprised that they don't know the exact amount. We can never seem to accurately predict the price protection amount from Ford either. Usually it is less than we expect, but we have sometimes received more than we expected.
