I got my hopes up for a minute after seeing all the well spec'd XLTs and Lariats getting scheduled, and again when I see that a fair few are hybrids, and a third time after reading that top dealer list and Autonation (my local dealer) is #1 in the country. But a scan through my emails from the last few days revealed nothing from Ford. Oh well, we can't all be the lucky ones... I'll be sticking my head back in the sand... Only way I'm keeping patient.

I got my VIN last week for a build date of week of December 12. Order date was October 28 2021. Where do you see the window sticker? Looked in FordPass app but did not see it.

I had given up on a 2022, so I ordered a 2023. Got the emails that 2022 had shipped and the 2023 was scheduled for production on the same day, October 28th.
Now I have a tough decision to make!

And yet, from what I've seen the majority of orders that just got scheduled are loaded, not stripped. Ford seems to be purposely picking the higher dollar orders.
Well, I started a thread a while back -- "Straight from the horse's mouth" and CEO Jim Farley was quoted . . . " We’re still in the teeth of it," Farley said. "I think this year will be very challenging for semiconductor availability. We’re maximizing production in our most profitable vehicles. That’s helping offset the loss in production, but it’s a very persistent problem"

And as for the Burger King 🍅 theory -- I have my thoughts on that as well. Ford has been telling us for some time now to delete certain "constraint" items from our orders. One has to think that a burger loaded with the works is more profitable than the plane old burger, yes. So if I could get the people that just get extra tomato or just an onion to get it plain, then I could sell more burgers with the works (tomato and onion)-- profits would be up. How many times do we read a Maverick with the works gets scheduled. Sure makes me think about all those people that took things off their order and still didn't get scheduled. I'm sure I cannot be the only one who thought about this.

Oof… tough call. It would really piss me off if something happened and the ‘23 didn’t end up getting built., but I would rather have a 23 at this point.

The 2022 Lariat package seems to have a lot more to it but I do like CG and the black out package.
Does anyone have info on the details of the "Special Offer" for roll-overs? The 2023 is still a roll-over from my original 2022 order. I had two. One just got built (the Hot Pepper Red) and the other one got rolled to 2023 with some changes (the Cactus Grey)/.

Blaming the customer as the reason why they don't have a truck they ordered a year ago is like blaming a customer who's waited for their food for 45 minutes at Burger King for ordering a Whopper without tomato.
Or is it more like someone ordering their truck with bananas after Ford has said "Yes, we have no bananas." ?

Ordered my maverick XL on January 11th, 2022, finally got a build date of December 12th, 2022 🤦‍♂️. Been waiting for nearly a year and people who just ordered in September for '23 getting trucks before OG '22 orders. Ridiculous.

Your idea that dealers don't know what allocation is coming is based on what?

I'll grant they don't know the exact number but have a darned good idea on what to expect based on their previous sales and model availability. Dealers and Ford are in regular if not constant contact.
I only know what Tim at LM said on one of his videos... but he was pretty annoyed with the allocation basis only being mavericks/bronco sports/escapes.... when ford had previously told them it would be based off total vehicle sales from the dealership. And even prior to that Ford had said they will not base it off allocation and just build orders as they come in.
So all sorts of mixed messaging from Ford regarding allocation amounts.

The biggest problem with that is Ford isn't saying "we have no bananas" to the customers en masse; they're mumbling it in their hallways and dropping post-it notes saying it hoping the janitor gets the word out.

Also: you say bananas, I say cyber orange fruit boomerangs.

So when Ford says,
"Congratulations on ordering your new Maverick XLT!" I shouldn't assume they will deliver it?
You can assume anything you want. But that doesn't mean it's what the letter actually means... It actually means they received a valid order from your dealer on your behalf, and are notifying you of that fact. Clearly, Ford intends to fulfill your order and build your Maverick (sometime), but (as you probably ignored in the numerous "click through" notifications on the Ford.com website) they also recognize that there are ongoing supply chain issues and other constraints that could result in your order going unfulfilled.

Just look at the recent history: According to various sources here on MTC, there are roughly 6,000 folks with confirmed orders for 2022 Mavericks who did NOT get a 2022 Maverick. Ford simply could not build enough Mavericks to fulfill all the 2022 orders, whether due to supply chain issues, or incompetence in Ford's supply chain process, or some other reason (take your pick, or feel free to invent your own). I seriously doubt that it was Ford's intention to create a massive public relations problem, or to screw over their customers or even their dealers. It DID happen, though.

Dealers were notified of this shortfall, and told how to ensure those "priority re-orders" (existing MY22 orders that could not be built) went to the front of THAT DEALER'S order queue when the 2023 order books opened. Unfortunately, some (many?) that screwed over their existing customers by not following Ford's recommendation. Instead, they just placed ALL the 2023 orders (new and re-order) at priority 10.

Ford likely COULD have prevented this huge customer relations fiasco by simply re-booking those 2022 orders as 2023s, and allowing a small window for the affected customers to tweak their orders, BEFORE opening the order books for new 2023 orders. They clearly COULD HAVE done this, since it's exactly what they did for the handful of "scheduled, but unfulfilled" 2022 orders that were automatically re-booked as 2023 models. So, in that sense, this public relations fiasco is one of Ford's own making.
