Whats up with this DeepSleep b.s. ? (2.0 eco)

I was working on my truck today going in it out a bunch of times. Had the key in my pocket. Truck always makes clicking and other sounds when close to it with the key in my pocket. Sure enough I got a deep sleep warning. So whatever pre charge it was doing every time I was next to it with my key put it into deep sleep mode. Is it really necessary for the truck to do whatever it does when your close to it with the key…. Can you turn off the key proximity?

Just went through the same thing. Also noticed that auto stop was not working. I checked the battery voltage and it was low. I charged the battery over night voltage was back to 12.8 and for 2 days all was good. Than it was back to doing it again deep sleep notification and no auto stop start. Made an appointment for warranty. Dealer replaced the battery under warranty and I received a better battery an AGM . Very happy no more problems.

Can you elaborate on the “better battery”? I’m having similar issues but the dealer said my battery tested fine. Seems weird they wouldn’t have just replaced yours with the same OEM battery that they come with from the factory. Thanks!

I have two Mavericks one built in 2021 and one built in 2022. The last one built (April, 2022) has started disabling features to preserve the battery even when it’s being driven nearly daily.

I had my local mechanic put a computerized tester on it and it through an ‘Error- Unstable Battery’ message. When he put a power meter in it it showed 10volts. A moment later the tester showed it as ‘Good Battery’.
(I’ll try to load the video. )

When I contacted the dealer to make them aware they were able to see it the same day. As I expected, after driving the 20miles to get there, it test good on their equipment.

I’m expecting it to leave me stranded somewhere soon.

The first truck has been running like a watch without the first issue.

Can you elaborate on the “better battery”? I’m having similar issues but the dealer said my battery tested fine. Seems weird they wouldn’t have just replaced yours with the same OEM battery that they come with from the factory. Thanks!

The battery installed now is an AGM battery. Read this article from interstate.

Thanks. Is it a “Ford branded” battery though? The battery in my Maverick says “FoMoCo” on it (I’m sure it’s made by one of the big names). Would you mind sharing a picture of your new AGM battery? I’d love to have mine upgraded since I’m having issues.

Made appointment with dealer this morning, explained the problem and he just agreed with all i described, it appears it effects some other models as well not just the Mav i guess other newer models that have ASS and other tech running in background . I told him guys were having batteries replaced he seemed already to be aware . So i have an appointment in 10 days from now and will update you folks then.
