:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: At my age as if I needed more proof this old world had gone friggin' bat shit crazy. Used trucks are worth more than new ones. Be honest, did anyone here see this coming a couple of years ago. :(

As for Long McArthur, I could not care less what they do. I would not pay that from a local dealer, I sure as hell would not from one 2500 miles away. :ROFLMAO:

Used trucks are not worth more than new ones. Do you have any examples to support this?

bought a 22 hybrid xlt lux package over the weekend for 32k..brand new.. ya it was 4k over invoice but ill take it..i have my 2023 order still in tact in case i want to trade this one in..so all dealers marking up but wouldnt pay that much because i dont need all of that but someone may
Bruce, yours is about the only logical post here. Sure Tim and LM can mark up their Mavs to $100k if they want its a free country. But not being reasonable in how much they ask makes them look shady to me. You paid $32k for a brand new XLT including a $4k markup. That seems fair. But asking $40k for a used XL that already has 17,000 miles? That seems crooked. So is showing an image of an FX4 on the advertisement.

Of course no one is forced to buy it but there will be some unknowing person who walks on their lot and does not know the difference. Posting this price gouge contradicts what I thought was an image of fairness. Their reputation should be worth much more than one sale.

There are people who ordered months ago that had to get converted to 2023s. That is a lot of catching up to do. I think it was irresponsible for Tim to grab 800 more orders without telling his buyers how many 2023 allocations LM has. Once his customers realize they will get locked out again and should have ordered from their local dealer, they probably won't trust Tim any longer.

Also notice Tim dresses up like a pirate now, as if he is a celebrity. Oh and in addition to all of his commissions and bonuses he accepts donations on his livestream from the people who have orders with him? Of course they probably want him to put their order to the top of the list. Talk about being conflicted. He can't accept money from people who are trying to get him to do special favors for them.

We get it, you don't like Tim...but Tim probably didn't set that price, which is negotiable. Had LM priced it below market value, who's to say another dealer wouldn't buy it, then proceed to list it at market value, which still wouldn't matter. Also, using the term "price gouging" isn't correct because that applies to items that are necessities, which doesn't include vehicles. As for the pirate outfit, someone else photoshopped that image, with Tim's approval (semantics, I know). In addition, LM took orders based upon last year's and this year's Maverick sales adding a slight bump in expected sales with information received from Ford, which changes from time to time. Will some who ordered from LM not receive their Mav? Possibly....but so will others who placed their orders at smaller dealers, so I'm not sure what your point is/was with that statement. Just chillax, eventually everyone who truly wants a Mav will get one...

Saul, I never said I do not like Tim. Yes I know price gouging applies to necessities but the perception of price gouging causes a negative image with the public. Dealers are called stealerships all the time on this forum for their pricing so why would LM be exempt if they also have high markups?

Look on AutoTrader and your will see many XLTs for less than $40k. I am sure Tim has seen this thread by now and if LM does not want to lower the $40k XL price that is up to them. But at minimum they should be replacing the misleading photos of the FX4. Tim also needs to give back any money he received from his customers on his livestreams to eliminate any conflict.

this price gouge
Market value is not gouging. Why don't you post how much they paid the previous owner for it so we can see how much profit they are making on it?

I think it was irresponsible for Tim to grab 800 more orders without telling his buyers how many 2023 allocations LM has.
Can you name a single dealer that told their customers back during ordering season how many allocations they had? (hint, you can't, because no dealers, including LM had that info to share).

Also notice Tim dresses up like a pirate now, as if he is a celebrity.
You've heard of Halloween, right? Also, is dressing up like a pirate something that celebrities do?

It's not market value if XLTs are sold with less ADM, like Bruce paying $32k for a brand new XLT on a canceled order. If $40k was market value the XL would have sold by now.

There are dealers who disclosed to their buyers their allocation numbers... Read the posts of people who said their dealer cut off orders well before Ford's deadline because of their 2023 allocations.

Maybe you work at LM.

Perhaps part of the negative image surrounding dealers "price gouging" is the improper use of the term? Your use of it sensationalizes something that has been going on since the dawn of time for all goods and services, and that is called "market value", and there's nothing wrong with "market value". Is that truck priced higher than giraffe meowmeow? Yep, but no crime has been committed, that's the market right now for an item that is wildly popular and in short supply (kind of like gaming consoles and graphics cards last year). I haven't read all of the posts on this forum, but from what I've seen, stealerships are the ones who don't honor MSRP on ordered vehicles, not for ones pricing used Mavs at market value, if there are threads like that here, perhaps inform the OPs that that is totally fine, as that is what the market dicates right now.

EDIT: I've watched a few of his livestreams, he's been upfront about what benefits a member receives. As for the single donations, that puts your question or statement to the top of the livestream feed and highlights it, which increases your chances that he'll see it and answer it. All quiet is kept, it's way easier to get your questions answered during his facebook lives, and it doesn't cost anything extra (don't tell anyone I told you that). You can also be gifted a membership (as long as you don't have a branded YouTube account), and that'll get you some perks for "free", although the moving ahead in the order line won't apply because the banks are closed for the Mav...

Name one dealer that disclosed their allocation numbers at time of ordering.
