Every time I think they can’t make it worse for the end customer they surprise me with something else.
Almost the only way not to be disappointed by Ford is to not buy a Ford.
They are driving untold numbers of potential customers. Everyone who has gone through Fords bungling and lies has told many others. I think my-coworkers are ready to hang me with all the updates I have given them for the past 12 months lol.

Well ladies and gents I'll tell you this. I just went through a category 4 hurricane. Lost my pool cage and fence and have roof damage. No telling when anything will get fixed. I ordered my Maverick the first day and got my confirmation email. If Ford cant or wont build it just tell me so I can cancel and move on. I don't need any more BS in my life right now. A Chevy Colorado is looking good right now. My best to all the storm victims in Florida.
I have a 2012 Chevy Colorado with 137,000 miles. It has been a great truck. Other than being religious with oil changes, all I have done is change the tires once, get a fuel pump, a new battery and brake work. Only reason I am getting a Maverick hybrid is I have never had a vehicle this old and I now put on 300 miles a week just for commuting and gas prices are killing me. The Colorado gets 20mpg

After wasting several weeks last fall trying to find a pickup to replace my 2001 Ranger, I "discovered" the Maverick Hybrid. I went to the closest Ford dealership and ordered a XL which I upgraded to a XLT with a November 1 order date. Got a VIN this summer, still waiting for my Maverick to be built.

I've been a member since last October. Many of you are out washing your Maverick today, or hauling supplies or going to the dump or heading to some fun fall activity with your essential equipment in the bed/in tow, and so on. I'm happy for all of you who are enjoying your truck and your decision to get one in the first place.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who ordered before me who are still waiting for their 2022 because they didn't get the special offer and a chance to order a 2023. We all watch our email for the next update or better yet, a build date and window sticker. The last thing we should have to think about is having our order tossed into the dumpster with no recourse.

I reached out to Tim Bartz for clarification on the memos posted by the OP. I'm hoping for a response, but mostly I'm looking forward to getting my truck sooner rather than later. To all the 2022 Maverick owners reading this, enjoy your truck this weekend!
A lot of us (maybe most of us) waited a year to get our truck so not sure what your point is.

For all the detractors, all I am trying to do is provide information on what is happening in Ford world beyond the Maverick. There is constant complaints about not enough information from Ford on what is going on, and also there are posts left and right of peoples build dates getting pushed further out and I am relaying info that Ford IS canceling other lines and there is no guarantee that Ford won't cancel your build. Especially if you ordered a hybrid when Ford says that they can't guarantee 23 Hybrid Escapes.

"we cannot guarantee 23MY Hybrids for all returned allocation."

Forewarned is Forearmed, take the info as you will.
[/QUOT

I appreciate your info. No one can deny how FUBAR this whole situation is.

I think it is worth mentioning. Honestly, Ford is not going to hold up production on the 86,000 MY23 orders just because a few constrained parts for a handful of MY22 are missing. At best, Ford builds most of the truck and sets it aside until the constraints are handled. This thread simply warns the alternative is they just cancel those last few so they can start getting the MY23 rolling.

I still don't see how Ford could cancel those orders... that may work for transit or escape, which are still open for 2023, but for the Maverick that would mean waiting till whenever 2024 orders open.

So what constraint kept me from getting built? XL hybrid with a hitch that’s it. If my order gets built the week of November 14 ,where it’s at now, I’ll probably be at 15 months before delivery.
All I’m saying is there’s no room for logic here. 😁

Something else to keep in mind is the Maverick has balanced out. So, in theory, this should not be an issue.

But watching how Ford handles other models can be illustrative of how they handle the Maverick. Especially when those other models are the basis in which the Maverick is built.

There is no official word, yet, that Ford will be canceling some of the remaining 22 Maverick orders, but I thought that I would share that this week ford announced that they would be canceling some of the Escape and Transit Connect.

10/12/22

And today, 10/14, they announced the same for Escape.

Are there going to be more cancellations? I don't know. All I know is that this sucks.
What!? How many times have I heard, with assurance, that "If you have a VIN, you're getting a 2022". The sales manager at the dealership said that too and I asked for a guarantee and he smiled.
Personally, I'm hoping I do get that '22.

It wouldn't surprise me that we hear of a small number of MY22 VINs that get reassigned MY23 VINs due to very last minute shortages that cause the orders to get rescheduled beyond the date when Ford really wants to start MY23 production. Production planning of any sort is always subject to surprises.

Not sure if that is a question, but congrats on getting your truck. My point is this: I joined this website to get information, the OP posted something relevant to my needs and I reached out to another member for clarification. If I already had my truck, I would be out enjoying it. In the end, whatever happens, happens.

Just another example of MTC speculation based upon hearsay stoking the fires of Maverick mania. The spread of misinformation around here is comical.
I will play devil's advocate here and say, "If it is on the internet, it must be true"! ;) :ROFLMAO:
