I live in Western Tennessee but I am currently in South America. It took several tries to get a hold of the correct guy at my small town dealer. Last night he called me back at about 7:30 p.m. to finalize the order. Around 11:00 p.m. I got an email from Ford saying my order had been placed.

I ordered a 2023 Ford Maverick XL hybrid in carbonized gray with the tow hitch, full size spare and 400 watt inverter. I ordered this specifically to avoid the constraint list lol.

The guy at the dealership said he had no idea when it would come in that they were still waiting on some from last year but because I ordered a simple build outside the constraint list I would probably get mine much sooner rather than later.

I hope to receive it by next spring. I'm real curious to see how it plays. I drive about a thousand miles per week for Uber with a 2010 Prius and I can't wait to drive the wheels off this Maverick.

I have no idea what my priority number is or even how to get it and I haven't received an invoice yet. I'm certainly not going to bother the guy he sounded like he had about 10,000 times as much work to do as he could manage LOL

PS no deposit required. I simply texted him a picture of my passport card.

got my email today 11/3 with the vin and a build date of 12/19!!!!!!!

Got my window sticker today 12/15/22!!!

Built on 12/22/22!!!!

Arrived at dealer 1/24/23

I picked it up on the 26th at MSRP. Landers Ford in collierville Tennessee only sells cars at MSRP and the doc fee was $495 which is under the $799 State regulated limit. And the sales guy gave me an entire box of Ford fits accessories for free.

Exactly what I was going to order and then I saw Atlas Blue so I changed. I also threw on Co-pilot. This may be an investment and it's a nice option.

I ordered my '22 XLT on Nov.3rd. After waiting over 10 months I today signed a purchase order on a 2023 XLT. MSRP was about $5K higher ($#$321!@#!) but they gave me a $2800 rebate. With some other wrangling this price is about $2000 higher than what "we" agreed to last year but at least I'm going to get one- this years with any luck. My local dealer has been pretty supportive so I feel lucky.

It is my first "new" vehicle ever and I am 66 years old. That's a nice way of saying I am a cheap bastard.

I HIGHLY suggest putting a deposit on the truck. That way they can't say "Oh we ordered it for our inventory"

I do want to say that a simple order doesn't necessarily mean a quicker build. I know I'm not the only XL order approaching it's birthday here.

I've been tracking the one I ordered and got a VIN and window sticker. All good and matched the order for Lariat lux Fx4 and 4K. I got a final build date in late July, but it went into production late June. I was curious about the airbag recall so I checked the VIN against the FSA Vin list. Guess what. That VIN indicates the Mav is a hybrid. Go figure. Also tied into recall.

I ordered a XL hybrid with a hitch and that’s it. I ordered on 10/14/21 and have a build week for this October but it keeps getting pushed. Part of the reason I ordered such a basic build was I thought it would help it get built quicker.
That’s what I get for thinking. I’ll be at probably 14+ months by the time it gets here.

Seem like its taking almost 14 months. I ordered mine on 8/20/21, it has been shipped from AZ. I'm in Indiana and the arrival date is 10/12 to 10/18. It's been a long, long wait. I wish everyone the best with their 23.
Mine is a Lariat First Edition Hybrid Rapid Red.

We ordered the EXACT SAME day! 😂 My XL only has the full size spare, all season mats, and the drop in bed liner.

I'm back in America now and I went to the dealer and got my invoice. $24,055! Also got a build priority of 10!

I'm sure every state is different but where I live putting down a deposit doesn't mean anything except that they have to give the money back when they sell your car to someone else. I've seen it happen more times than I can count.

This is why they want a copy of your ID to send to Ford to prove to Ford that they're ordering the vehicle for you and not for stock.

I still haven't even seen a Maverick in person LOL

Honestly that is all it means anywhere. The people on here who think it guarantees them anything are delusional. I think most people on here (not all) have had basically fine experiences deposit or not. But you don't own it until you sign for it.
