The priority only matters at that dealer. Let's say Dealer A sets their top priority to 10 and Dealer B sets their top priority to 15. If Ford allows each dealer to build one truck this week, Dealer A's 10 and Dealer B's 15 gets built. The priority is basically a way for the dealer to tell Ford what order they want the trucks built.

Silver hybrid XL with priority 19. I emailed sales guy and asked him if he could have sales manager enter property code 10 but never got a response back so I’ll take that as a no. Small town dealer I ordered from usually caters to full size and heavy duty size truck buyers so I’m hoping most in that town won’t even bother with ordering a small truck.

Only if you are the only one at that dealer with a 10. Otherwise, everyone with a 10 who ordered before you will be ahead of you.

The priority is simply the dealer's way of telling Ford "build my orders in this order." So if they are all at the same level, the system defaults to the oldest order.

My dealer told me today they are no longer taking 2023 orders. They told me I would be wait listed until Ford reopens their order banks again. Can this be true? How could they shut down in three days.

Try another dealer but it wouldn't surprise me. My dealer had a preorder list you had to be on before the 15th in order to place an order in their initial batch (of 112 orders). So, it was always a crapshoot if you could get in afterwards. And my dealer is closed on Sundays, so the window was limited anyway.

It appears Ford is limiting their retail orders this go around with the intent of actually being able to build them. Might have to wait and see what the dealer can get on stock orders.

First thing Monday morning, start calling other dealers. You may even want to order with Long McArthur Ford which is in Kansas, but can have your order delivered anywhere. Tim Bartz @fordvideoguy can explain it better than me. His email at the dealership is [email protected].
