I hit one of the stupids last year. I was doing 40 mph just before first daylight on a county road. Destroyed the hood, a headlight, and the radiator mount. Killed the buck. For the car, zero leaks and nothing rubbing. It was a beater car with no collision insurance that I should have been able to junk and just buy another beater. In this crazy market, instead I had to pay $1,600 for a new hood, headlight, and a partially improvised radiator surround repair.

This is my nightmare too. Glad you were ok. Looks like the headlights are good. So just the bumper and the black trim pieces underneath. Probably won't be that bad but you'll either be out your deductible or just paying out of pocket if it's close and you don't want your rates going up. How long you'll have to wait for parts tho? Hoo boy...

I HATE DEER. Wish the hunters would take more of them out. Dam stupid animal . I could have been killed by one but by luck he wasn't in my direct path. Did I say I HATE deer.

I got a "bruise" on my HPR front bumper in May . A bit under $1200. Grille and bumper come off as an assembly. While it was off I got the cross bar on the grille re-painted to HPR too!

Wonder why suicidal deers pick Mavericks? There are way too many threads on this and why doesn’t the government provide mental health outreach to sad deers? So much damage and wasted venison.

I had this experience with a Mercury Cougar in 1995. He messed up the front, took out windshield and slid over the top off the back walked away stood on top of the hill along the side of road giving me a single finger salute. It was just at sunrise So on my way home from work and looked for him (nice Rack). The front was the center of the hood but the texture of his fur scratched all the upper surfaces of the car requiring a new paint job. We are in a rural area along the Missouri River. This experience is my worst nightmare. Good luck with your repairs.

Giant rats with hooves. Make that giant STUPID rats with hooves. I grew up near a park where there was an overpopulation problem and they were constantly getting hit. Hated driving through that area because it was like a carnival game seeing if one was gonna pop out.

They aren't as stupid as most people think. Just ask a hunter. Except in the rut when they are breeding. Of course I imagine a lot of guys go crazy when they're chasing after a piece of a$$!
I've had those deer whistles on my cars for years and, knock on wood, haven't hit one since. Have a set on Mini and deer always look at me and I see them from a distance and can slow down.
