I've had zero issues driving on or merging onto the highway in my 08 Prius. Also no intention of ever really towing anything. So a moot point for me, hadn't even considered it. I live in Indiana so I'm surrounded by morons who drive as well.
so you are the guy everyone honks at and gives middle finger salute as they swerve around you merging at less than safe freeway entry speed?

I've been saying that all along. Heck I even saw it on the HPDE track. New guy who thinks he's all that and a bag of chips shows up in a Lamborghini Murcielago...to an HPDE event with mostly 4-banger daily drivers. His strategy was "smash it on the straights". He didn't last long before leaving.

You and me both. Yeah I have the training and skill to drive much faster than the government has deemed safe for freeway travel, but I have no reason to. I might save five minutes on a 1-hour drive, but I'll be a lot more stressed out from having to concentrate harder.

My last F-150 had the 5.4L V8 Triton with the PI heads. 260HP in a truck that was 4800lbs or so. It was no slouch, at least when not towing. Seeing the EB Maverick come in sub-4000 with 250HP is impressive.

Although I am 100% confident that the Maverick (both hybrid and EB) will be just fine on power considering their intended use, and that the Maverick is the sensible, logical, and economical choice, part of me still wants to get an F-150 with the 5.0L V8. Especially now since they have 400HP. I've driven several '18-'20 5.0Ls and one '21 5.0L. The acceleration is almost comical.

Told myself, once I have a garage big enough to park it in, I'm getting one.
yep! We have the 2018 F-150 Supercab Sport with Coyote 5.0 V-8 (derived from Mustang) with 10 speed trans and selectable 4WD (default is 2WD). Stomp on it and it flys while making that great V8 sound. Had to get it before they discontinue offering V-8s. We would never have bought this truck with the EcoBoost  My Maverick will be the 2.0 EB with AWD though. I want max power and towing out of it and it will likely be the last new vehicle I ever buy- go big or go home in the performance department here ;)

I have seen a lot of people worrying about the power of the Mav. It blows my mind where we are today. The low end Mav has 190+herspers. The EB has 250. The 1994 f150 six banger had a measly 145 herspers. For those of you who say, well that was the lowly six banger Ill raise you the 1994 FORD LIGHTNING had 240 and weight 4800 pounds! I have never heard in my life anyone say that truck was under powered. The 1990 1500 SS had 240 horses. These were the PERFORMANCE trucks of the day! Go back to the 80 and its uglier. In this day and age of 700 horsepower trucks people have forgotten that even 400 herspers is A LOT OF POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have become spoiled to super powered trucks. My 94 150 with a 5.0 was rated at 195 herspers. I put 300k on that engine towing boats and trailers across the South. It was NEVER underpowered.

So bottom line people, the 190 out of the Hybrid is enough. More than enough. As much as a V8 in the 90s. The EB is more than the PERFORMANCE TRUCKS of the 90s. Dont worry about the power of this truck. It is by far more than enough and more than most of us grew up with.
The horses of the past were Clydesdales. Today's horses, to keep in line with the politically correct environment, are Shetland ponies. As such more are required!!!

Good luck finding that final number for the hybrid
There was a video posted of the tires being squealed on the hybrid. There were at least 2 people in the Maverick at the time.

Ok, and the left lane on the interstate is for passing;)
Agreed, but I don't hang out in the fast lane. I have the right to drive the limit +/- 5 mph without speeders riding my A$$, cutting me off while they try to save 5 sec on their trip. When I am passing a truck on the interstate, I will speed up so I don't inconvenience the speeders.

Ok, but not sure what that has to do with my post.

I tried driving the speed limit in Houston once when I was in college. Flipped off 5 times and lost count of the times I was cut off angrily. Didn’t try that again. I try to just put myself at the slower end of the flow of traffic.
