6 minutes in, for those able to bear it. At least the Maverick was second, not third. Actually the whole video is a pretty good overview of why JD Power isn't BS, and how everyone rated out there. Happy to see that Ford is not at the bottom - nicely in the middle.

Now clue all the denier fanboys to angrily rant on about how the Maverick walks on water and industry quality surveys are marketing BS.

Please note - they're talking about the first 90 days of ownership. The longer term survey comes out in winter. The Maverick might top the SC there - dunno.

My wife wants to trade in her Jeep and get a Santa Cuz. Not sure why we need two mini trucks, but also don't know why she shouldn't have what she wants if I can, so................

I have a feeling I'll be learning more about them in the near future. ;)

Does that include the Category - “Ugly”? I wonder how much Hyundai paid to have that review?

The guy has been a professional reviewer for a big publisher for over 20 years, not likely Hyundai paid them off. It should be noted that they really like the Maverick, from their reviews of it in the past.

Interesting update. The pre-refresh Santa Cruz is dropping in year over year sales for the first half of 2024. It'll be interesting to see if the grill and interior refresh reinvigorates sales. And whether or not Hyundai continues the SC past 2027 or so. 35,000 isn't a lot of sales. On the other hand, it's just a variant being built on the strongly selling Tucson line.

I like the SC. So I'm not trolling it or anything. I'm just really curious to see if the facelift helps. You can tell from this forum that SC SUV styling drives away a lot of styling-conservative people.

My problem with JD Powers is 1) It seems they can be bought and 2) They consider transmission failure and a headunit quirk as more or less the same "problem" count.

Santa Cruz has recently suffered from both a DCT recall for total transmission failures and an airbag recall. That said, I haven't heard too much on the Maverick front except for the hybrid that I'm interested in some were having check engine light issues which is annoying but not deal breaking.

That said, on paper the '25 Santa Cruz XRT and '25 Maverick Tremor are now both refreshed and I have a feeling will be a very tight competition with one another trading blows.

I've been watching both the Maverick & Santa Cruz when they rolled out and recently my wife bought a '24 Santa Fe and a close friend bought a mid-range non-turbo Santa Cruz. Both are great vehicles and appear to have good build quality.

But I went with a '24 Mav XLT with the luxury package and not much else. To get a turbo motor and a heated steering wheel I was looking at a lot more $$ in a Santa Cruz. Interior headroom is also much better in the Mav.

Tucson sold 209,000 in 2023 in USA alone. Santa Cruz I don't see it breaking 50k annual even if it offered hybrid.
Could Maverick outsell Tucson if Ford had more capacity? Hybrid AWD 4k tow 40 + mpg pickup is a formula for sales magic.

See you later dumb Santa Cruz!😜

My wife settled on a 2025 AWD Chevy Equinox LT. She was going back and forth between the Hyundai Santa Cruz, Tuscon, and Chevrolet Equinox.

I would've been supportive of any of those picks, but think the Equinox wil be a fine SUV and am happy we won't have two trucks and no SUV.

I do like the dash and infotainment center on the Equinox. I'm jealous. Leaves alot to be desired from my Sync 3. 😐
