I also bought Morel 4" for the rear but haven't installed them yet.

An external amp is planned as they still suffer from the necessity of additional power to truly make them "sing" but they are very musical.
Will the Morel‘s be fully PnP as well?

Do you notice a big improvement with the stock B&O amp?
Do you get more volume, or just a richer sound?
Did you had any sound deadening to the doors?
Any plans for the center speaker?

With this upgrade, it will not be a dramatic increase in volume as the amplifier power is still the same. With this said, because of the high sensitivity there is a little increase in volume and alot more rich sound quality over stock. Morels will be PnP AFAIK. I sought them out specifically because of the inline cap on them as well. When I installed my Raptor 3rd brake light I had to drop the headliner....which required me to remove several panels..one of which where the rear speaker panels. Bolt pattern is the same...hole for magnet should be an issue.
The Morels only come with the speaker terminals so I will be making my own PnP adapters. Yes I plan to replace the center speaker. I also plan to upgrade the factory sub with a shallow JL Audio 10" with a 500 watt sub amp. Sound deadening was not added yet but it is planned for the absolute best in cabin sound reproduction and reduction of unwanted vibrations

This is pretty similar to the Focal set I shared....same frame work. Differences being tweeter material (which effects sound brightness/harsness), frequency response, woofer material (which effects bass response/extension, sensitivity (a higher number here means the speaker is more efficient with the available power and thus plays a lil louder and protection. The Focals have inline crossover caps on both the woofer and tweeter, irrc the powerbass only uses inline caps on the tweeter. For the price and same installation the Powerbass may appeal to more people, however if you able to demo both side by side, it becomes clear why the Focals cost more.
That's good info. Were you able to demo them in store ?

Yes I was. I was already familiar with the Focals because of having them in my F150. Some may not be able to demo which I think is a shame, but the market for car audio appears to be "shrinking" thus reducing where you can live demo anything anymore. Huge disadvantage as no 2 people hear the same things.... 😞

Research team just finished up with work on my XLT with Lux and 4K. The Lux and 4K won't affect the audio system though. Should have wiring info, speaker measurements, etc. up on the site in the coming days. This should help with what speakers will fit, and what wires can be used to for amplifier installs as well. Hoping that some integration modules will be coming out in the next bit as well, but that is on the manufacturers.

I'm really hoping for a replacement head unit. The unit is unreliable. Please come through for me crutchfield!

As it stands right now, the unit is unreplaceable. There might be some innovative dash kits ( Maybe an Alpine restyle kit) EVENTUALLY. Sucks you are having issue with your radio, thus far my stock unit has performed flawlessly. I did a software update when I Received the truck, and have since had no issues. the Android Auto works as well as any OEM AA ( I've had Nissan, Hyundai, and Mazda) I've ever had. Only the Mazda I would rate as better, and that is only due to their control knob system (no touchscreen). The sound quality isn't too bad, but I will be fixing that! the reception of the radio is solid, and the screen is responsive. In terms of stock headunits, I give it a 8/10. Not being locked into the burdensome Sync Software will be a blessing in disguise in a few years, mark my words!

This isn't true... electrically... a Maestro has been used on other Sync3 systems...some high end, and retain all Sync functions.

Physically and maybe to the point you were eluding to, yes, nothing out there aftermarket BUT nothing a lil custom fabrication wouldn't fix. 😉

The Maestro wouldn't have a problem with the Sync3 system, per say. As it stands right now, there isn't a harness for the Maverick, or software, or dash kits. With enough power tools, and a strong enough will, almost anything is possible... :) Losing fordpass remote start functionality, satellite radio tuners and antennas, USB port loss, wonkiness with the "Premium:)ROFLMAO:)" B&O system and other various gremlins are all possible caveats to headunit replacement. Once the Maverick is more readily available and the aftermarket manufacturers have ample time to develop stuff, there may well be a plethora of headunit upgrades that are possible. Only time will tell on that front. As for now... iDatalink, PAC, Metra, Scosche, etc... don't list much.

If it’s anything like the base f150 stereo system then a DSP will go a long ways in cleaning up the sound

The stock speakers just use filtering caps on the tweeters. So if your aftermarket tweeters don't have bass blockers better to use the crossovers that probably come with the component set or add filters to avoid damaging the tweeters.
Not my experience. The tweeters are wired directly from the head unit. The crossover is part of the head unit. I will check it out when I get a chance but I installed the Infinity reference without their crossover and it is obvious the components were carefully crossed somehow.

I am sure the B&O system has the speakers crossed over differently. Specifically, I suspect they filter some of the base out of the signal sent to the door speakers and send it to the subwoofer. My setup with Infinity reference delivers an increased base response from the door simply because they are better speakers. It is almost too much, if I turn up the volume it feels like I could blow apart the doors. That's why a sub is a good idea.
