I just picked up my first edition Lariat Hybrid about a week ago. Today when I came out of the car wash, I wiped it down, and then I open the doors and wipe down the inside of the doors And the chassis. Upon a closer look I noticed there was a red lens on each of the rear doors. They are translucent, and do not look like reflectors, I turned on the lights but they did not illuminate, I looked in the owners manual and I cannot find them listed anywhere, does anyone have any idea what they are for and why they are there? Tomorrow I’ll take a picture and add them to this post, so others will have a reference to them. Thanks

I am still waiting on my Maverick to be build, but I'm pretty sure those are just safety reflectors.

they just cover a bolt for the door panel, i guess since it needed a cover why not make it red instead of grey

Probably for sides of the road repairs (safety reflector)

I think those are reflectors. My current truck has them on all 4 doors. They put them there so if you have your door open at night traffic can see.

Try using a flashlight at night and I'll bet they are reflectors. Safety feature.

I just looked at my 2012 and 2014 Escapes, none on 12 but yes on 14, front doors only.

Add a high bright LED light in each of them wired up to your door switches so they light up when the door is opened. I know that's what I'm gonna do.

That sounds like a great idea. I would love to see this.

That is exactly what they are, a reflector to cover up a screw for the door panel. I have them on my XLT
