My rear passenger window is having the exact same symptoms as of this morning. The window motor is hot and is clicking on its own without touching the switch. The window won't roll up at all.
Picked the truck up from the dealership and the issue was the same as others have reported. The driver master switch panel was bad, they replaced it with a new one and the rear passenger window works fine now.
The switch is stuck in the roll down mode, I'm just wondering if diagnosing the problem will cause problems with the warranty?
I pulled the door panel off, made sure it wasn't the regulator, checked to make sure the motor was still plugged in and I noticed it was super hot. I swapped rear door switches to see if that was the issue. When I dropped it off at the dealer I left the door panel off and told them what I had tried, and told them what others were reporting on the forums. They didn't give me any issues with warranty.
No I didn't. If you really want to save a trip to the dealer the part is 50 bucks and seems to be what most people are reporting is the issue. I did have to give the truck up for 4 days, and thankfully they had a driver switch in stock or it could have been longer. It's still better to take it to the dealership because if there are any other issues (another user reported a burnt out window motor) it will be handled and all of it will be put into the service history. Plus I would think it would get added to Ford's metrics and show if this issue is becoming an increasing trend worth putting out a service bulletin or recall on.
