Tim also said if you are getting pushed to a MY23 to not worry about getting your order in the first day the banks open up. Ford will give your dealer a code or way to prioritize your rollover MY23. And with them currently scheduling for production in October, you should have alot of time to get an order in and get ahead of the line with this "priority code".

When did he say that? What I heard last night was that he and his people were converting all the rollover 2022's the first thing when the order banks open and he recommended that anyone that has an order do the same. Obviously, since not even he knows what Ford is doibg to handle these rollover orders he is not waiting to find out.

It makes sense if you are not consumed by FOMO. How about backing off and not being so concerned about ordering the 1st day? Or the 1st week, month? WAIT until everything needed to make a sound decision is available. You don't NEED TO be 1st or "front of the line" to order a Maverick do you? We know it will be a case of "hurry up and wait" for many months AFTER you order. You'll be able to order for many months and this is Summer and tons of other fun and pleasant things to do - so why not turn your focus to those for awhile? We all know there are other avenues and work arounds for getting a Maverick if you NEED 1 sooner, and the trade off will be probably paying more than what some people here will approve of (ignore them- it's not their $ or decision) and the used market is now coming back to Earth. We've seen many people intercept an incoming vehicle or take advantage of a refused retail order- it can be done with a little extra work. I don't get why people are so stressed about about the order process which they have no control over. Life is too short for that
Actually since Ford was only able to produce about 50000 Maverick trucks using that logic that the same constraints could still be a concern for 2023 models you should be communicating with your dealer or actually email Tim because he Will follow thru and get it done. Many dealers are going to make promises and Not deliver or attempt additional costs. Only Trust Tim or Get everything in Writing!

Only 2 1/2 months from launch, as of August 23, 2021 Ford CEO Farley bragged about already having 100,000 Maverick reservations before most even knew the Mav existed. https://www.motor1.com/news/528403/ford-maverick-reservations-three-states/

Taking orders through Jan 2022 must mean thousands more orders but the numbers are not adding up: My understanding is sharing the Hermosillo plant with the Bronco Sport limits Mav production to 6,000/month or less. That is only 72,000 per year assuming the supply chain issues suddenly clear up.

I personally know someone who ordered a XLT hybrid on June 8, 2021 right after launch way before the long line, but he is still waiting. That is wrong.

So with all of last year's orders still in limbo, Ford accepting 2023 orders seems pointless and will likely upset a lot more people. But Farley probably needs the new orders (that he knows Hermosillo does not have the capacity for) to keep his stock price pumped up.

For all we know, there might be more than 72,000 2022s that get converted to 2023s. Now that millions more know the Maverick exists, my bet is whatever new 2023 MY orders Ford squeezes in will close in days, not months like last year.

Here is Farley's email if you want to ask him what is going on. He probably won't answer but I would expect his assistant to read and report to the board a summary of what is stated on the emails. [email protected]

I'm not picking sides here, but I think this sense of urgency to be first in line stems from a literal year of piecemeal information and lack of order security.

I was disappointed to hear Tim @fordvideoguy say on his show last night that he didn’t think Ford would open another Maverick plant or increase production at the current plant for 2023. Expect more of this in 2023–

I don’t know you but thanks. Ordered June 8, 2021, confirmed June 17, 2021; hopefully, scheduled for the week of August 1st.

As of the end of June, 79466 Mavs were built (including the ~400 pre-production). July Production was expected to be 2800 due to the two week maintnance shutdown. Aug is expected to be ~6000 and Sep ~4000. The three weeks in Oct should be around ~4000 as well. This puts them at around 96,000 production units over 14 full months of production. Averages out to over 82,000/year even with all the issues they've had. It's clear they didn't realize the demand for such a vehicle. I would expect things to go a bit smoother with the '23, and they will easily exceed 100,000 units.

I should add, the line is capable of at least 9778/month. That's what they did it in Mar. 9184 in Feb, 9179 in Apr, 8755 last Oct. It shows they can easily exceed 100,000/yr if the stars line up.

He said that in his last video about the rollover's a couple weeks ago i'm pretty sure. I'm not seeing a video from Tim yesterday. Can you send the link? I might have old or inaccurate info.

He also stated that MY22 orders would be prioritized by Ford within existing constraints. I'll have to go back and listen again but I don't remember him saying "first thing when order banks open", just that they were going to re-enter all of their MY22 customer orders automatically as a service to their customers. In a different video (maybe #48?) he said they would have 5 managers available to enter new orders as soon as the order bank opens. I don't think re-entering a MY22 order is time critical because it will have a prior time stamp anyway. Assuming things go as planned.................

Long McArthur is entering all the pending 2022's as soon as the order banks open with the configuration as close to the original order as the 2023 will allow, and then will contact those customers when Ford releases actual instructions on how to handle the changes, the private offer, and how to code the order to push it to the front of the line. They are just being pro-active, instead of sitting back and waiting and maybe missing the boat. The big take-aways from what he has said:

1. Do not let your dealer cancel your 2022 order until the 2023 order is complete, verified in COVP, and tied to your 2022 priority date including you having your private offer in hand.

2. Do not remove any options from your 2022, as this may (and probably will) effect the private offer.

3. Once you have your private offer, you can take it to any dealer, but will lose your priority over new 2023 orders if you move.

4. It is unlikely that the interest rate deals that were available last year will carry over. You will be stuck with rates and incentives that are available at time of 2023 order (or at time of purchase, one or the other).

I'd like to see the order guide as well, even though I somehow managed to get scheduled. Mostly for the sake of curiosity.

If a person is really wanting their new 2023 order to be placed on 8/2 my advice would be to talk to your dealership beforehand, let them know that its important to you. Give them a build sheet for a 22 that is the engine and trim level that you would prefer, possibly even making a few notes (such as a second choice on color if your first choice isn't there, that kind of thing).

Ask them to put that order in, or as close as they can get to it, on 8/2. That establishes your "place in line".

You can always come by the dealership later in the week, review the order, and if needed make any changes at that time.

From what I understand from reading about this for the last year is that your order date doesn't change unless you change trim level or engine type.

Assuming you've already chosen a dealership just talk to them about it.

Makes no sense on the June order still not delivered. I think there is more to that. I ordered my Larial Lux Hybrid on June 22 and I've had it for 6 months already.
