Will there realistically be any difference between 2022 and 2023 build quality?

Seems like manufacturing is only getting worse so the changes may not be good ones...
They'll fix some of the existing problems, but the many, many more that will pop up will be a delight for all of us! I'd say this about any manufacturer btw.

This same basic design is expected to be in production for 8 years. Get a 2029 if you want one with most of the bugs worked out.

There are no perfect products, particularly cars and trucks. There’s always stuff.

23's should be better for 2 reasons. One, they are aware of first year bugs and issues, and hopefully resolved them. Second, Ford just said that in 2023 they expect most of the brand wide QC issues to be fixed in 2023, and that issues plaguing them will be worked out across the brand then.

For this year no major changes you might get cruise control on XL and far maybe 60/40 but thats it. As far what they have for materials in interior i don't think so. Lux may be cut out all together and they may just put standard power seats and window in xlt maybe the xl.

It only seems like quality is worse because of the internet. At least '23 model owners won't have to worry about holes being drilled in the gas tanks, bad wiring harnesses, etc.. This is how things evolve. I would rather have had a second year model specifically so they could iron out all these issues before building my vehicle.
No me pal. I'm first in line for the '22 and I'll be first in line 2 Aughst for 2 ea. Hybrids. I can be patient NOW! Love my Unicorn!

That's why, in a way, I'm happy to be converting to a '23. Many of the niggling little growing pains will be addressed.

I finally got a build date for August which is nice. Xlt with lux, 4k, fx4, rear window. One thing I asked my dealer to do was to remove the lux package and he never did which unfortunately probably pushed my build date back a few months. By the time I get my Mav it will most likely be mid to late September and I really wanted to try and avoid a situation where I get my 2022 shortly before they start producing and shipping 2023 models. I would much rather wait another 2-3 months and feel like I'm getting a new car with the kinks worked out instead of one that will be one year old within a few months but I got a build date before I could contact my dealer to change it.

I'm considering putting another order in with my dealer for a 23 and decide what I want to do after. It may be a stupid complaint but I've always had a bad taste with first model year cars but I was sold because of the drivetrain being in production for a long time, and if I got it earlier in the year I would have been ok with it but this situation is the one thing I wanted to avoid. Just want to see what others are doing in this situation and if my concerns are justified
I also ordered mine in September, dealer told me it would most likely be a 2023, Hybrid, XLT with 3-4 additional options! I chose not to take them off the order as I wanted what I ordered! Said I would have price protection, and a 2023? Good luck!

That's fine but it comes at the cost of dealing with the growing pains. I went ecoboost because the drive train is relatively mature. The hybrid issues will get ironed out in time and everyone should do what makes them happy.

The 2.5 Hybrid has been around much longer than the 2.0 Ecoboost. It was first put in the 2010 Fusions. It is proven to be a 200-300K mile engine.

I go to my Dealer to sign final MSRP and build sheets 2 August. Nothing funny or shady at my Autonation. Strait-Shooters. This will be my 4th and 5th new-car purchase from them with no issues. Great truck!

I totally agree with your way of thinking. I ordered my hybrid in September and would prefer it to roll over into MY23. I hope it does. At this point, I'd rather have the new and improved version.
From what I read, nothing is going to roll over. You have to reorder a 2023 with a private offer from Ford. Call @ 800-334-4375, and ask questions

Ford Hybrid's have been around even longer than that as they have had them since 2005 in the MY05 Escape. Video shows ECVT from Ford's first three generations. The Maverick is using HD-45+ so forth generation with an improved Traction Moror.

0:30 1st Generation (Aisin HD-10) Hybrid Transaxle 2005-2008 9:53 2nd Generation (Aisin HD-20) Hybrid Transaxle 2009-2012 12:10 3rd Generation (Ford HF35) Hybrid Transaxle at 2013-2021

I've seen multiple posts about a private offer from Ford. Are they giving this out to customers who ordered a 22 as a courtesy? I believe my wife got an offer when her edge lease was up last year. I'm going to be ordering a 23 Maverick so maybe I'll get a private offer:)

There are different private offers. Some have gotten private offers to purchase a new vehicle after recently purchasing one.

These private offers are specific to 2022 Mavericks since they won't be rolled over and price protected. You had to have ordered a 2022 and not been scheduled. The offer will be specific to the person who ordered it. No one knows what the amount is but is assumed it will be the difference in price from 2022 to 2023 based on your build options.

The early Escapes had the 2.3 though.
