Will there realistically be any difference between 2022 and 2023 build quality?

In either case, if you won't be receiving it until September you will know more than a month ahead of time what changes there are so you can determine whether you want to keep the 22 or wait. It seems like the used car prices are still high so you can probably drive the 22 until the 23 shows up and at worst break even on it.

I finally got a build date for August which is nice. Xlt with lux, 4k, fx4, rear window. I'm considering putting another order in with my dealer for a 23 and decide what I want to do after. It may be a stupid complaint but I've always had a bad taste with first model year cars but I was sold because of the drivetrain being in production for a long time, and if I got it earlier in the year I would have been ok with it but this situation is the one thing I wanted to avoid. Just want to see what others are doing in this situation and if my concerns are justified

Is it too late to add something that is constrained like the mud flaps or tonneau cover.

I have an early production AWD EB Lariat I bought last Oct. I’m pretty happy with build quality. Maybe not choice of plastic. Overall it’s built well and no issues I’m concerned with. And the AC is awesome. Better than my Bronco Sport. Don’t know why.

There will definitely be build quality differences between 22s and 23s but there is also quality differences within the same model year……..early, mid and late 22s. Getting an early 22 vs a late 22 will make a large difference in quality…….or should…….if Ford is listening at all to what this forum has been saying.

I don't understand removing an item you want, to get it a few months earlier.... to then have to live with it for 4-5 years or longer.

Agreed. Lariat Lux for me. Waited 8.5 months. Drove my last truck, 2005 Sport Trac, for 15 years.

I took delivery this month and my climate control knob is missing the digital readout that was marketed to me back when I ordered (chip shortage). We're now hearing that they're likely dropping WiFi hotspot capability (chip shortage), the prices have already been raised twice since launch, etc.

While I do think that build quality likely improved gradually throughout the 2022 build, nothing magical is going to happen when they start calling them 2023's. If it were me I'd much rather bank on the 2022 arriving before Ford jettisons anything else from your build.

Curious as to when you ordered it. I think many may feel the same way as you do. But I would take the truck.

My feelings too. But I'm still ordering a M23. Looks like it will cost more with less stuff.

When did you order yours? That’s my exact build pretty much (Ecoboost). I ordered mine 11/25/21 and haven’t heard anything from my dealer or ford.

The Lux package is good and makes the Mav worth it to me..the build factor, I don’t think ‘22 to ‘23 will be significant, if your concerns were mine, I’d wait until the next major update, probably in ‘25.
