Not an assumption. This was in my Ford account and it was actually dated 7/7/22

I got it in my Ford account too...but...but...but...I don't have my truck yet. 😂 😂 😂

It's been stuck at the rail yard for over 3 weeks now.

It’s a cascade failure. When the deposits on the valve make their way to the rings and clog them up, oil can no longer move past the rings and it burns in the combustion chamber. Oil consumption begins to accelerate and often goes unnoticed until the rod bearings, and sometimes the main bearings, are no longer getting proper lubrication. Friction increases leading to catastrophic engine damage. I’ve been in the automotive industry for over 35 years and still counting, and yes, I really know engines.
Well I have worked in an engine test lab since 1985, built, modified, machined, shipped boosting systems to other companies and personally tested these engines recording data on them.
An engine with the problems you are describing has suffered from little to no maintenance including lack of oil changes.
Any engine abused to this extent could suffer a catastrophic failure, period.
Also, clogging up the top compression ring because you are injecting a solvent (gasoline) into the cylinder goes against any good reasoning.
Dirty oil on the other hand from neglect, is the main reason for stuck rings, has been since the IC engine was invented.
GDI engines do suffer from oil dilution if they are used only for short trips . If the oil does not get hot enough, it can't burn off the gasoline dilution that takes place during cold starts.

This only applies to the 2.5L Atkinson hybrid. It does not address any potential engine failure prevention strategies which of course has to initially take place. Who cares? When is the last time you've ever heard of such an engine failure in anything that had its oil changed in the last year or so? They are calling it "isolated engine manufacturing issues". I'll spend my time worrying about something else thank you.

Here is a good video of the modifications the dealer will do on this.
Earlier a member posted where the holes needed to be cut. i'm sharing screenshots regarding the shutters to be removed and the one showing where holes will be cut.

From the above video.

So what is the fix for the initial cause of the problem? The crankshaft machining. A new engine?

Check the door label. Mine is 5/22. I can find the exact day if I need to or just ask a dealer using your VIN
