Well this makes sense then. Both of those things are just pure profit for dealerships and wastes of money for the consumer. So I'm sure you'll be welcome.
Yeah, except that I think you misread something. I am -not- welcomed at the dealership anymore.

Maybe it is to their advantage to stop returning calls and stop being friendly... I bought the maintenance plan and extended service plan ('cause I'm too old now to be out changing oil, replacing brake pads, replacing alternators/water pumps/starters in February with no garage to work in -- BTDT), so they are BETTER OFF if I don't bring my truck in. Any work they don't have to do is money in their bank.

So -- what I wanted to pass on is that those post-sale surveys are not anonymous: they go to the dealership and at least SOME dealerships will give you the cold shoulder if you give them an honest less-than-perfect survey rating.

I advise against doing the survey at all if you can't honestly give five-star ratings. Good chance you'll regret it.

Bob Cactus: First, yes they did find my $500.00 deposit after I produced the receipt issued back in December of 2021. That was not an issue.
You are correct that the fine print and all documents should be read carefully before signing. The section of their paperwork that you highlighted was not shown to me until the day I showed up to pick up the truck. I signed nothing with Tamiami Ford till pick up day. Not one mention of any dealer aftermarket add on's during the 9 month wait. That was the only price increase I was not ready for. This wasn't my first vehicle. I knew that there would be the taxes, dealer service fee, DMV/State fees etc. Those were expected & not the issue.
There was no paperwork other than what I had from Ford Motor Company-my order number, confirmation & a window sticker-via the internet. All confirmed that Tamiami Ford would be handling my purchase. I was told by Ford Motor Company that this was all I needed. This was confirmed by the Tamiami Internet Sales Associate via email within 48 hrs of me placing my order. No paperwork from Tamiami Ford until pickup day so there was no fine print to see or paperwork signed. The conversations between me & the 2 Internet Sales Associates during my wait were about production & delivery dates. That's all. I also have an email from the Internet Sales Director concerning the $500.00 deposit on my order.
Could I have fought the dealer aftermarkets? Sure. But the regular sales associate made it very clear. Its the dealerships policy for that package to be added to any vehicle that come through it. No exceptions and no changes. If I wanted my truck I had to pay for the dealer aftermarket package. He threw the Internet Sales guy under the bus by saying "He should have told you...Sorry"
Another member posted a letter that he sent to his dealer specifically stating not to add anything to his vehicle/order. Should I have done that? Yes. Hindsight is 20/20.

I was in a rush and hit post reply before I included this: Last month, I did receive a gift card in the amount of $43.10 from the dealer. The letter with the card stated they miscalculated one of the fees in regards to the DMV/ State.
I can use the card at the dealership ford parts, service or come into the office and get cash.

You're better off going to a large dealership in this kind of market. Bigger inventory and less likely to get hit with ADM or dubious packages. Sucks that the small local dealers are the ones to suffer, but you have to look out for yourself.

EDIT: "large dealership" means one that is part of a large chain or network

I was once helping a friend buy a car at another dealership. It was a no haggle place where they were selling cars with bad carfax really cheap. They were adding LoJack device to every single vehicle on their lot and that was $695 added to the price. I told them to take it out, since I don't need it. The sales manager got a little upset and he just waived his hand to the sales person and told him to remove it from the buyers order. No modifications were made to the car to actually take it out. I've been is business for 6 years and still don't know how a LoJack device looks like.

I inquired about ordering a Maverick at Tamiami Ford and was told the owner puts the add-ons on every vehicle and that you cannot delete. I did not order from them. also I used to have my vehicle seviced by them until I found them ripping me off on parts. the price they charge you and what the real price is is way off. they charged me 13.00 qt ea for synthetic oil when you can go to the parts counter and fordparts.com and pay 9.00 qt. that was not the first time they ripped me off.

It’s their way of making money on a deal that didn’t make them any money, other than a doc fee. Should have gotten MSRP plus doc, tax, and dmv fee in writing.

And why would they install those items anyway? Not everyone wants front tints and LoJack. Literally nobody needs LoJack. It’s 2022 and your car is a gps unit.

i had a similar issue and posted about it when I picked up my Mav back in December2021. Short version- I walked out that night over random $2.5K upcharge after not so nicely explaining to the sales manager that I didn't appreciate them making modifications to my special order truck. I got the GENERAL manager's number from a kind sales associate, called him up the next morning and explained the situation. He apologized profusely and blah blah blah come get your truck sir. I went back to the dealer and got it at the MSRP price+destination fee that I had agreed to pay when ordering.

gotta know when and how to fight for it, which i assume most don't and just end up caving and paying thousands extra because they don't want to lose their Mav. the sales manager had the audacity to tell me- "it's still a great deal, i can sell this for $10k more!" was the only honest thing i heard from him in the 2hrs he had me at the dealership.

I agree with you. I was caught off guard and then I could not get past the sales associate to speak with anyone up the chain. Either about the mark up or the low ball on my trade. Like yours said to you " I can sell this for a lot more if you don't want it" was the attitude at this dealership. I came very close to walking away from the deal, but i caved in the end. Bottom line is I will tell anyone who listens not to use this dealership for a new car. I won't comment on the service yet since I haven't experienced theirs.

Almost got one yesterday at a NE Florida dealer. Lariat Lux hybrid at MSRP! They only added a $999 protection BS but was fine by me. It had some additional crap that came on that I didn't need, but was going back and forth whether to get it or not. Told myself if it was still there this afternoon I'd get it. It sold this morning. The only thing holding me back was I wanted to see what the 23 MY has so I don't have buyer's remorse, but next time I'll just buy it either way and worst case sell it later.

Just good to know there are still some honest dealers and salesmen out there. He's been messaging me every time. I'll post on here next time something becomes available that I don't want. They had an XL hybrid a week ago.

Honestly, I can't understand why a dealer would sell one at MSRP right now. I mean, good for anyone who finds one at that rate, but it's a simple supply & demand thing at this point, and it's not like it would sit on the lot any longer with say a $2k-$3k ADM.

I know. I don't know why I even thought twice about it, I should've bought it yesterday. The only reason why it lasted so long was that I guess they had just gotten a Bronco in that they WERE marking up so all the salesmen were busy trying to sell it and not the Maverick. Don't know if I'll get that lucky again. I figured if mine rolled to 23 MY (most likely) and was one of the first scheduled it would probably still not be delivered until December or January which is 5-6 months away, might as well take it while I can.
