Is the bigger rad, oil cooler, etc. included on all of the 2.0 AWD? Or is it just with the tow package?
You'll have to choose the 4K Tow package to get those upgrades. IMO, the extra $745 is well worth it, no matter what climate you live in.

want to make the right decision for my particular need. I’m a pool guy and drive around all day carrying about 1,000 lbs daily. I love the hybrid as far as mpg but maybe won’t be as good for me because of the weight to power ratio? Maybe ecoboost with more power at the end would give me around the same mpg as the hybrid would because of the weight I’ll always be carrying?
tough call, you can really go either way. id say your right the ecoboosts extra power wont strain the engine as much with that much payload every day but the in city driving the hybrid and cvt will top it in mpg for sure. both powertrains are good options for your needs. Depends on how long you want to wait as well for the vehicle as well and how you want to equip it. But all in all, if you dont need to accelerate quickly and are mostly in town driving and dont plan on towing much or live in a area with LOTS Of snow each year. Hybrid may be the better option and i say that as someone whom ordered an ecoboost too

What are we looking at wait time for hybrid vs ecoboost?

well as of now atleast for schedulilng they are powering down on ecoboosts and AWD models. They as of current havent scheduled too many hybrids. For what reason im not sure per say. Heard something about the transmissions and how many they can or are building at a time but not 100%. I just know that from what ive heard, seen , and been told they have the ability and tooling to crank out ecoboosts a bit faster. Hybrids aka early orders. June/July most likely will be fulfilled by Decmber(ish) most of them that is. So if you ordered a hybrid now, maybe early winter to spring. Maybe. dont take it as gospel. If you have time to wait and willing to wait then go for the hybrid. They havent said direct wait times mind you. But it just seems how the scheduling has been going lately. alot of ecoboosts, alot of AWD.

Really ? Wow, don’t know if I can wait that long. Ecoboost maybe is in the lead for my decision

4k tow package adds those & changes final drive ratio too.

Precisely my reasoning for the ecoboost. well 1 of my reasons. i had others as well. to be fair theres no GUARANTEE i will get mine sooner either since i got a spray in bed liner which is a contraint right now. but those whom have had orders of ecoboost ones with no spray in liner OR the luxury package seem to get pulled alot faster as of late. it may not be that way all the time though. just as of recent is all. Im guessing the tooling for the ecoboost and 8 speed auto is all ready to go as is since thats also an option for the bronco sport in the same plant. just a guess however. also depends on how much you want to or can spend. hybrid will be more inexpensive to insure and buy. its not an easy decision that i know. just do the research thoroughly on both powertrains, options, prices etc. what you need, dont need, want dont want, can or cant live without and the option will become readily apparent to you as it did me i hope

true true! another reason i chose that one as well. i wanted those taller gears since its a pickup. no 4:10 option on it unfortunately but the diff ratio in that package is what 3.86 or 3.89 right?

That’s not really true for hybrids since they still have an engine. That’s definitely true for strictly electric vehicles. If anything, the service will be the same, or more involved since there is more than one system to inspect, and in the 2.0 case service.
Lol. No. Just no.

Ok
I don't think mpg will even be remotely close, even with 1k pounds. The hybrid will still beat the 2.0 handily in city driving. The other thing you need to consider, since you'll be putting more miles on it, are the maintenance cost. The hybrid will be drastically cheaper overall, even if you aren't getting all the way to 40 mpg.
Adding 1000# to either drivetrain will lower mpg’s. You will still get better mpg’s with the hybrid.

The cost will not be the same. The 2.5 is an Atkinson cycle, and will not run nearly as much. Additionally the transmission is far simpler, and the brakes will get used a lot less.
Nobody said the cost would be the same. I said service of an engine and other system checks. Regardless how much the brakes get used, you still have to service the engine at regular intervals. Getting a hybrid doesn’t mean less moving parts/systems to go wrong. Because you have 2 systems sharing the workload. I stand by my statement. Fully electric? Different story

I was talking about total maintenance cost. The service intervals will be a lot fewer and further between on the hybrid. The drive train is shockingly simple compared to the Ecoboost.
