Getting "transmission is not in Park" message when we come to a stop

For the first time, after having driven 1500 mile since I have owned the truck, we have started getting the "transmission is not in Park" message when we come to a stop. That message has replaced my brake coach message. It not only stays on the screen but beeps until the struck starts moving again. My wife was nice enough to drive home from the restaurant because I had a schooner of beer and was of course worried she had done something wrong, which she had not. Hopefully it was a one trip occurrence and if not I will update this post.

Happened to me one time. One of my doors wasn't shut all the way.

If you switched modes while moving it will do that till you stop put into park then switch modes
Can’t switch modes on the fly

I switch modes on the fly virtually every day, never once encountered the OPs issue..

I had that happen and it was because
one of the doors were open or not closed
all the way if that helps

I switch modes on the fly virtually every day, never once encountered the OPs issue..

I have switched modes on the fly several times with no issues. This time I watched my wife put it in ECO before shifting out of Park

I switch on fly frequently and never get that message.

Most likely the door was not closed all the way.

one of the doors were open or not closed
all the way if that helps

If door is not closed you get door a jar warning

Only did too me once because of shifting on fly (strange )
mine is hybrid
