I'd feel better about a new transmission than piecemeal repairs. One of the silver linings about repaired Mavericks are OEM parts only.

This is good. I'd rather they replace the entire thing than screw around replacing parts and hoping it's all good.
Yes. That is what they said at the shop too. Im quite relieved that they are taking this approach.

Glad they are replacing the whole transmission; all your videos appear to point to that being the problem origin- it’s almost like the clutches are jacked up and either killing the engine at a stop due to not downshifting and then not releasing upon starting to drive again (hence the high rpm’s)

I hope that takes care of it and the mechanics at the shop seemed to agree with you that the transmission could be at fault/related to both issues.

After spending a few hours online late at night trying to see if anyone else has had this issue, I ran into several forum posts about Escape and Focus owners that had similar problems. The solutions to their problems left my head spinning on all the possibilities of what could be causing these issues. I saw everything from fuel line issues, throttle body, bad valves, etc. Way above my paygrade for sure.

Getting kinda spooked. If mine ever gets built I will have a 800 mile road trip to get it home. I need to stay off this forum I think.

I had a 1,200 mile trip to bring mine home and everything went fine, in fact it was great! Don’t worry so much, most of these trucks aren’t having these issues. Odds are you’ll get home safe and happy

I think youll be fine. If these issues were common, I assume this forum, reddit, [banned site], and the FB group would be flooded with people talking about it. From what I can tell, im the only person online that has reported these issues with a Maverick.

at 6,888 miles, my Tremor did this yesterday twice. I was stopped, waiting to pull out of grocery store plaza and truck stalled with same message. I restarted, and backed away from the pull out spot to get out of the way before someone pulled up behind me. As I was backing away, the truck stalled again. The AC now also only blows hot air. I was able to drive it home which was a 3 min drive.

I don't feel very safe driving this way. It will be a few weeks for the service center to look at it. I was also told not to bring it into my old mechanic because it could void the warranty. So I am stuck going through the ford service center and wondering what to do in the mean time. I am at work and will read through each page of this thread when I have time for more info.

The service center scheduling experience was very eye opening for me.
