I was traveling on the interstate on the way back from Tennessee to Georgia and stepped on the accelerator (basically punched it) to get around a big rig, all of a sudden I get a "tow truck" icon on my dash and the accelerator is unresponsive, so I think I was in electric mode only if that. Fortunately, I was close to an exit and was able to coast to a stop in a parking lot. I put it in park, whereby the shifter dial then locked into park, could not change it. My wife read a blog on the internet (the owners manual is useless) to wait a few minutes and everything should work, that turned out to be true, so we were able to be on our way, but scary as hell to be on the highway and your vehicle suddenly shuts down. My Ford Pass app showed a Hight Voltage Battery warning.
Has anyone else had this happen?

Something definitely not right, take it to your dealer. Sounds like it went into limp mode or something

Hi there! I can look into the concern you're experiencing with the battery on your Maverick. Will you send us a message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer?

I have an update to the High Voltage Battery Warning that I and others on this site have reported. My dealer had my truck for 2 weeks and after discussions with Ford engineers, I was told that Ford advised my service dept.to return the truck to me, basically, they have done nothing aside from recognizing the codes they read and apparently "excessive clutch slippage", but from what I was told they have no idea how to fix it. I reminded my service rep that I felt that this is a very serious safety issue, with the truck suddenly shutting down while driving and telling the driver to pull over. To say I am frustrated that Ford does not take safety seriously is an understatement. I'm hoping that if enough people report this problem, then Ford will issue a TSB and maybe even a recall once they can pinpoint the exact issue.
If anyone else on this site has had this issue and has not reported it, do so now, please. The more of us report it, the more Ford may take this seriously.

I should mention this has happened 3 separate times...not good!
Isn't that when the lemon lawn kicks in? Same issue 3 times and the dealer can't fix it.
