My 2024 hybrid XLT developed a fault in the high voltage coolant pump while we out birdwatching. We were able to limp back to our camp about 40 miles away, having to stop a few times to let the system cool down. We have service scheduled at our next camp location. Will I still be able to flat tow the 2 hours to the Ford dealer for the serving?

I have been flat towing vehicles for years I can‘t image this failure would affect your ability to flat tow it as long as you are able to enable all the flat towing requirements. Your toad will not be running while you tow it…

Sorry to hear this. Hope you get it to the dealer without any problems. Was it just a check engine light and a code? Anything else in the instrument cluster?

Thanks! On Ford Connect app says “Service Engine Soon.” It goes on to say, “The powertrain control system has detected a fault in the high voltage System Coolant Pump, air maybe present in the cooling system.”

Did you check the coolant level in the HV system coolant reservoir?

Hi everyone, update on the check engine light. It turns out that something punctured the radiator! So, I have a brand new radiator.

How much did they charge you? This just happened to me today and the quoted repair is 2200.00

That's about average. Highest I've seen quoted on here was $2700 and lowest was $1600, but that was back in 2022 dollars.

Thanks for the info. Having this happen and being told that it’s exterior damage so you are totally liable for it sucks. But then I guess this is the world we live in. Bad design flaw if you ask me, coupled with cheap parts!! Hope it doesn’t happen again.

Wow, probably an errant rock punctured it? I see a lot of new cars now with unprotected radiators, I'd think about installing mesh grilles to protect them

Saw a new BMW M2 at the track, the lower grille is like 20" wide x 8" tall and it's totally open - you can see the radiator and intercooler inside. They're super expensive too ...
