Just got an interesting call from my dealer (The Ford House in Wichita Falls, TX) about my order (XL, Velocity Blue, w/ hitch receiver). First they said that they were following up to let me know about supply restraints and then asked if I was still interested in the truck I ordered. They said they were contacting all of their customers with orders so they could make sure all of their orders were still valid. Once they made sure the orders were valid, they were going to contact Ford to see if there was anyway they could "expedite their orders". I'm wondering if the dealer is just trying to make me feel better, or if this is legit. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Just trying to make you feel better. No harm in it but there is no actual pathway for expediting unless you're talking about someone with a real buddy buddy high level relationship in Ford that can go above a lot of peoples' heads. But I doubt that's the case. Every single dealer in America would like to 'expedite' their customers' orders.

Yes, seems like a legit move than any dealer would do. First, they are trying to judge how many Mavericks that they can resell with an ADM when they come in. If you say "no, already bought something else" I am sure that within a very short time you will see them advertising that truck on their website.

As for them "expediting" the orders, probably not a lot they can do other than maybe complain to Ford that they are not getting their fair allocation.

What you should have done is ask for your priority code and how many other Mavericks were in front of you with the same or lower priority code. You should also confirm (in writing) that what-ever deal you initially made (MSRP?) was still valid.

Best of luck with your order.

I believe Tim Bartz looked into his orders from last Summer and contacted somebody which quickly lead to a bunch being scheduled.

I suspect they were primarily fishing to find out the answer to #1 - see if you still want it, so they know they can sell it if you've moved on.

Assuming all of the dealer's orders were at Priority 19. They could bump some of them down to a Priority 10. But I doubt it would make much difference.

I had been at Priority 19 at my small local dealer since the day I ordered- Dec 15th. I stop in about every 2 weeks to see if any updates on Visibility Report. Last week I stopped in and decided to finally remove a couple constraint items but the guy got error messages saying the order was locked. Then we noticed I was at Priority 2. They have only 1 other Mav in front of me- also Priority 2, but no allocations:( I believe they only had 5-7 total orders, and they seem to receive 1 about every 6-8 weeks. I saw 2 of them in person and they told me of a couple more and they were recently told likely to be 4-5 months for more. I kept my order intact as it was and will just wait it out. Still time to squeak in as a MY2022 I think, but they have me price protected either way.

Dealers have been asked to clean up their retail order banks before June 1st.

I have a Maverick on order with WF Ford House. Placed on order early Nov 2021. Not a Hybrid. Other than the confirmation email in Nov, I never heard anything from them. I started talking to them after I got notified that it was built and being shipped around May 4. After they received the confirmation that it was shipped, I went in a closed the deal. Price was MSRP with no markup other than $150 doc fee.

That makes me feel better. As an October hybrid order I'm looking forward to getting VIN soon. I've never dealt with them before and was getting little paranoid with some of the negative stories about dealer shenanigans I was seeing. Good to see dealers working with customers for a positive experience.

BTW, I've only seen two in the wild around here, one was Velocity Blue and the other was black. Have you seen any others?

I’v only seen one on the streets of WF. I think it was A51 with steelies. It was headed south on Seymour Hwy and turned on onto McNiel.
