One thing's for sure, if you don't buy it, the dealer will gladly mark it up $2500-$5000 or so and sell it within days.

If you don't mind investing the time, call or go visit all the nearby Ford dealers other than the one you're buying from. Ask them if they're interested in buying the truck 15 minutes after you buy it, and for how much. Now you have a serious answer. And of course the usual online suspects.

As mentioned above, be sure to factor in delivery charges, taxes, registration, dealer paperwork, and the value of your time. My salesman swears to me I can make money if I sell the truck back seconds after I buy it. But caveat emptor, right?

I'm in CT, waiting on a Lariat that my Ford sales guy ordered for himself and offered to me when he bought something else. I changed all the specs but its still in his name. Not naive, but no choice other than hope that in this instance a handshake is worth something. He ordered as an employee so didn't run incentives or anything. Wanted a hybrid but that option wasn't open when we changed the specs. If it doesn't work, there's always 2023...
