Where in SC? Other advantages besides doc fee? MSRP or Invoice or...?
I'm in Atlanta but work in Greenville all the time and my parents live in HHI.
Thanks!
Do like the majority of us in Georgia on the page have done. Order from Chapman Ford 4% under invoice then have it courtesy delivered to Mall of Georgia Ford..
I know of 3 so far being delivered there.

More so considering changing from hybrid to 2.0. My current car needs about $2k worth of work that I would rather sell before I take it on. Not sure it will make it till January. Therefore the added gas expense of the 2.0 will probably be less than putting $2k into a car right before I trade it in.

Nope.

I shopped the midsize truck market back in 2018. I chose Tacoma because it offered the most features and was $42K and STILL doesn't have all the features my loaded Lariat spec'd Maverick. It ended up being full of problems. All the midsize trucks, from all manufacturers, are riding on dated platforms, some dating back to 2000. I will not touch another midsize truck until they are all seriously updated. I'll take my loaded Lariat Maverick at $38K and enjoy modern features. All next generation midsize trucks are only going to get more expensive. They are all tight cabs (most even tighter than Maverick specs) and overpriced for their age and what you get when you start comparing side-by-side for 3 years like I did. If you need more towing, or interior room, get a half-ton and skip the midsize until they are updated.
This. It's why I'm not considering a Ranger...too old on its current gen and the next gen will be more expensive.

How tall are you... and not to get too personal... are you overall, a LARGE guy?
Not necessarily but at 6' I have some long legs lol so I usually find my knee banging against the center console and the armrest on the door, no problem on the escape, but I felt the diff in th sport

Man, I hate modern interiors and their extra large center consoles. So many large exterior cars, have no space because of huge consoles, or door handles that intrude on the leg room.

I never sat in the sport, as I felt it was too small for the price. I'm 6'5 and fit mostly comfortable in the Escape. I'm hoping the Maverick has a similar space/feel setup to the Escape.

I didn’t consider fully canceling because frankly this is perfect sweet spot, functionality of a small SUV (I’m guessing like a escape), the utility of a larger SUV (think cargo capacity of an Explorer), with the looks of a conventional truck. Oh and the Hybrid fuel economy. Before I was cross shopping with larger SUVs like new Pathfinder, Explorer but the gas mileage gets me even on the Hybrid Explorer.

I did however reconsider/change my order from XLT w/ Lux to relatively base XL, I couldn’t justify the higher price when a good mid size SUV isn’t much more but at a low price this is a no brainer and it I’ll just drive it into the ground and be happy while later I can lease a more Lux car... while having the (hopefully) old reliable Maverick.

I think I didn’t explain myself clearly enough. To me, maverick is not a $40k vehicle. At that point, you’re building out of class.
Seems like a pretty average vehicle. Average new car price is 38k so IHMO, the pricing is inline.

What I don't understand is why size == value? What I want is a small truck with all the luxury stuff including posh interior and I'll pay for that. I don't want or need an F150 or a Super Duty.

But 'merica, I guess.

I have the co pilot and lux pack on the XLT with the 2.5L Hybrid. I am 5/10 wife is about the same and we have three little kids all under 6. 2 boosters and a front facing. The only thing I am worried about is if the 2.5L Hybrid will have enough giddy up with the truck loaded with the family for road trips. Will also probably get a tent trailer at some time to go camping as well. Any though on this or if I should switch to the AWD 2.0L?

I agree. Price is relative. For me, I was planning on spending $45-50K on my next long term vehicle. Pricing a fully loaded Maverick at $38K was saving me money, and I got a host of niceties. I no longer/ have no use for those bloated midsize and full size trucks if I don't need their capability or their size. It is about time a manufacturer gave me the option of a compact truck that I can spec out some great options. Usually it is compact vehicle with limited available features.

If I opt out it will be because either (1) I can’t afford it at the time due to employment changes or instability or (2) I wasn’t able to wait until delivery date and ended up buying a prius.

Depends where he is in ATL. If on the west side, Val at Wade Ford. If on the north, definitely Mall of georgia

I think what’s hard to fathom is what 20K gets you now, this is not a 35K car imho but that’s because I remember what that got you 5 years ago but I think the sweet spot XLT they have is right where it needs to be, price of a small SUV but this overall offers more than a small suv so it’s a great value. Since I went XL this is a steal since it’s comparable to a civic pricing and fuel economy (thinking Hybrid obviously) but having a truck utility ups the sedan anytime except maybe looks (car designs/looks are way nicer than trucks imho).

And a Ford Raptor or F-150 Platinum is a $90,000 vehicle? My point being they took a bone stock basic F-150 and made it all fancy. The current Ford Ranger is a stinker. It's not a real truck like the F150. It's not small truck like the old Ranger or the current Maverick. It's a lukewarm kinda truck. I don't even comprehend who would buy the current Ford Ranger. Certainly not me. I have an F-250 long bed, and I have a old style Ranger. They serve different job truck functions. I find the new Ranger pointless. Unless you want a truck that sucks at being a big truck and sucks at being a small truck I don't get why anybody would ever buy the current Ranger.

Haven't reconsidered once but I am inherently impatient. Just really can't wait to get out of my current car, even though it's the first time I've ever not had a payment (it's paid off). I've always tried to avoid being an early adopter but when it comes to trucks I have faith in Ford.

Really didn’t matter for me since I had to drive over an hour to even get to Atlanta (Lagrange fleet dealer kept giving run around for over a week), but I live 5 min from I-85.
So I just went with the place that was setup first since both Mall of Georgia and Chapman had worked it out already with a previous customer.
