Is it really over $100 for a dealership oil change!!??

This sounds more in line. Whenever I'd take my Honda for an oil change at the dealership, it was always around $39.95 or so including a tire rotation, which they sometimes would charge $10 extra for. Either way, no big deal. Not sure what dealer the people on Facebook are using but I just got our oil changed at the dealer and it only cost us $44.95 plus tax of course.

And that's what it cost me for a Synthetic Blend oil change for my Prius V every 6 mos.For a hybrid Maverick with the synthetic 0W20, it could be in the $70-90 range, but possibly higher if do a works package with tire rotation - you can use 5W20
semi-synthetic if cannot find 0W20, but may experience lower mileage...
I always tell newly YouTube certified mechanics to have a back up plan. Like a a way to get a rental car, or a way to tow it to the dealer. Sometimes a job isn’t as easy as it looks on line. It just happens the 3 seconds they skipped over was a Mutha &@“@!&. You’re correct though! Many things can be done easily at home. If you’ve got the tools, time, and space you can fix just about anything. There is a lot of maintenance you can do for yourself that will save you big bucks. Once after spending over $1k for a bunch of front suspension work on another vehicle, I looked over what I got for my money I realized I could have done it myself for about $300. YouTube can teach you a lot.
Since then I've done fluid changes, brakes and rotors, an EGR valve and some other stuff and saved $2k over what the mechanic charged. More than ever it makes sense to DIY if you are at all mechanically inclined.
