do we have any updated view on how constrained these items are? e.g. 46% of builds have CP360 but they can only build 30% with it?

Dear Ford, don’t sell options you can’t build. Thanks for using up all the constrained parts on Sep/Oct orders last quarter instead of prioritizing summer orders.
I ordered mine in September. And I still don't have a bill bait

Any part/component that requires a chip is the big constraint.

Make no mistake, it's the lack of chips that is killing Ford the most right now.

My salesman encouraged me to add nothing that couldn't be done by the dealership when I placed my order in late October. I started with an XL w/360 and a few days later I had him bump up to the XLT. My order was confirmed November 1. Ford is suggesting that I remove the 360 so that they could "potentially build my Maverick sooner." But then it wouldn't be MY Maverick, would it?
We've heard this before. I think they will keep whittling away at orders with constraints, ie heavy chip builds, and eventually they'll get around to building all the trucks, including mine as shown in my signature.

I ordered my truck a certain way for a reason. I want the features of the luxury package. It wouldn’t be what I want if I remove that. Ford Motor company, do better. At least act like you have some empathy. Me and my kids had a lot of fun selecting features we wanted. My kids have never had the fun of getting a brand new vehicle, and they are very much looking forward to getting the truck they helped customize. Asking us customers to give up features is ludicrous. I ordered 9/15. There is no fairness if you build any trucks ordered after that date before building mine. Constraints be damned. Build in the order the orders were placed.
They are not asking you to give up anything. They are simply advising you of the situation and giving you options. You can wait potentially longer for the truck you ordered, or if some things are less important, you can drop them in exchange for potential faster delivery.

Remember when everyone on here was clamoring for more communication from Ford?

This is so absurd, they need to sort it out! The pandemic has been going for 2+ years now, no more excuses.

It has nothing to do with the pandemic. A decade of underinvestment in chip manufacturing and a storm in Texas were bad things.

Whoever freaks out at the news today, and in the coming weeks, needs to chill out. This isn’t news! Ford knows they can build more trucks without constraints. They really don’t care if you get your truck as a 22 or 23. Their just giving you an option. All the trucks they produce will sell weather they are for stock or customer orders.

If you don’t drop the constraints you might still get a MY22 thanks to so many others dropping theirs. The possibility of a MY23 isn’t so bad, you will get price protection on the items you didn’t drop. I can’t stress it enough that you ordered a truck your way. Don’t change it!

When are they going to list the real constraint on the Maverick is the HYBRID DRIVE SYSTEM COMPONENTS dating back to order day one. They will make 2.0 ECO, lux, co360, in xlt or lariet since the first day of production and still do. Hybrid issues caused orders for them to stop in November before they were even given the EPA mileage and OKTB in December and that constraint is still the number ONE issue. July order, code 2 since December, and not scheduled to be built yet. XLT, hybrid, velocity blue, lux, and co360 is my order.

I will be picking my Maverick up in 2 days. I've been waiting 9 months 10 days. Wasn't willing to compromise on my order. Although I did take the tunnel cover off and ordered it through Ford parts and they will be installing it tomorrow. It's unfortunate for everybody that Ford had to launch so many new vehicle lines. At the worst time of supply chain shortages.

This is false. It is what you said, combined with a huge uptick in people buying consumer electronics with being at home all the time, plus automakers seeing an initial slowdown in sales (remember all the deals initially on cars and car financing?) and completely messing up their forecasting.

Your other points are valid, but I'm not sure "nothing" is fair. It's common knowledge Ford severely underestimated new vehicle demand when the covid lockdowns went full bore, and cut orders from their chip suppliers. As a result, chip makers tooled up for consumer electronics and other markets instead.
