BETTER COMPUTER SCREEN IN THE MAVERICK

Has anyone attempted to use a larger/brighter/better computer screen in the Maverick to replace the current 8" stock unit? Maybe something from the Mustang EV, the escape; or one of the others??? Its far beyond my skill level; but there are some here who seem to almost be able to work miracles!

I'm actually looking into this right now. I'll update you later on what I come up with.

I guess I'm not hard to please but I don't see anything wrong with my Sync 3 system in the Lariat.

8 inches is plenty big enough to see what I need. In my view (pun intended), increasing the size of the screen is only going to increase the size of the repair bill when it inevitably breaks (trust me, all touch screens break. Doesn't matter the make or model)

I'm also curious about associated upgrades to the reverse camera. Curious to know if it's the display that's low res, or the camera itself, or if it's just that they have an antiquated data bus that can't support a higher definition signal from camera to display.

Since everyone seems to think that the 8" infotainment screen was a downgrade to save cost, I've been trying to see if I could find the display that might have been originally intended for for use here.

With as many parts and systems that were borrowed from other cars, I thought that 'maybe' Ford planned to use a display from another vehicle.

It's a unique size and shape, but I think I may have a winner.

Using a 'very' unreliable process, I assumed that the Maverick has an 8" wide 16:9 display. If I include the cubby, then this looks like it could be a 21:9 display.

The 2022 Ford Tourneo Connect Sport.

It's a european minivan that is pretty utilitarian looking, but the 2022 version comes with a 10.25" touchscreen display. This is technically a rebranded VW Caddy.... VW, aren't they rebranding the Ranger?

It looks like the same proportions, so maybe this would work.

What do you all think?

In my opinion, it is an attempt to keep the upcoming release of the official ST package quiet. There were pictures of a ST prototype or show vehicle that were posted here and quickly removed by the administrator. When I questioned this I was informed the ST did not exist.
