From complete disappointment to very happy

Hi all, I will try to make this short

I placed an order for a Maverick Lariat Luxury Hybrid last November before the deadline to place orders. Weeks later I was informed by the dealer that they made a mistake on my order (and I believe many others) and had not completed the new process for ordering Maverick trucks so my order was canceled. The deadline had passed to order one. So I went from excitement to frustration in a moments notice but I did get my deposit back.

So now I was left with waiting till this summer to place a new order with a different dealer for sure. My daily review of the Maverick forums was reduced to maybe once a week at best. Last week I read a post that was from an individual who started calling dealers to see if they by chance had a Hybrid Maverick that someone had failed to take position of and it worked for him. He was in the right place at the right time and landed a Hybrid Maverick in one days time.

After reading his comments I thought let me try that as well. The very first place I called actually had a First Addition fully loaded Maverick Hybrid truck on their lot. The truck had arrived the day before and the person who ordered the truck was waffling on whether to buy it or not. I went straight to the dealer and informed them I would like to buy the truck if the person who ordered the truck throws in the towel. I had not been at the dealer for more than 30 minutes when the manager informed his sales team that they could find a new buyer for the truck as the person who ordered it decided not to buy it. The sales person and I started the work to sell it to me which did not take long. While this ~ one hour purchase was underway there were two other potential buyers waiting in the lobby in hopes that I couldn't some how get financing or approval to buy the truck.

Here are a few pictures. I thought about sleeping in it last night but the new car smell was a bit strong for that

Regarding the FE Decals & the posts, handwashing the truck is the best way to keep the FE decals from lifting. No car washers, no high pressure washers ...... Just an FYI
