I mean, I'm not confused......
That's what they all say...

Seriously... it's not your confusion I'm talking about. As I understand it, you don't believe there is a yearly allocation system. Instead, you think the dealer employee is (to put it a bit more kindly than you did) confused.

So, I categorized your vote by reference to my previous question:
"I'm wondering if there are two different allocation systems or if there is just some confusion here."

Or maybe I should put it the way Bob Dylan did:

There must be some kind of way outta here
Said the joker to the thief
There's too much confusion
I can't get no relief

My order is from Mid-October for a Hybrid Hot Pepper Red XLT with the only add-on being a Trailer-Hitch Connector. The Ford Rep claims my order is: "Unscheduled - Balance Out". "This means the order will not be produced because the model year has balanced out." I just contacted my sales guy at the dealership by email. No response yet.

Thoughts? Has this happened to anyone else?

I understand that you'd like me to neatly choose one of the two things you suggested but do you really think there's any confusion on the dealer's part? You're acting like this is the first time Ford has rolled out a hot new product. I'd like to remind you that every dealership went through this with at the very least, the Bronco and Bronco Sport so they have a pretty legitimate idea of what to expect for allocation at their location. Given all that we know about this process, Ford's allocation system, all of the collective information Tim Bartz has made us privy to (Which absolutely contradicts what this guy is saying) and everything this guy has posted, do you really think that's a scenario where confusion plays a role? You must be a ton of passive aggressive fun at parties.......

I'd be more inclined to believe Ford. Sadly, many salespersons at Ford Dealerships are utterly clueless, and consistently provide erroneous information!
I’m inclined to believe a homeless person over Ford and their constituents. Aside From Tim Bartz, and my current salesperson, I’ve been provided 💩 information.

Lol.

I called Ford the week after I placed my order since I hadn't gotten an email. The woman I spoke with confirmed my order, gave me a Vin and said I'd be in production in November (Sept hybrid order).

Turns out my salesman had been out and finally put the order in that day after I bugged them. Got the confirmation that day. So, I had a Vin before my official order! (I looked it up and it was an EB model).

Who knows what goes on...

Hey there, @FakeCowboy... hold your fake horses. If you want to know what I would like, I'll tell you.

It's pretty simple... I would like to find out if many dealers are claiming that they get an annual allocation and that it has run out (so they will get no more hybrids, or whatever). That's why I asked the question like this:
I'd like to ask the group at large if your dealer has told you:
  • that they already know how many allocations they will get for the rest of the year?
  • that they already ran out of their full year's allocations and won't get any more?
I phrased it as neutrally as I could ("...if your dealer has told you...") to invite people to contribute without fear that someone would jump down their throats. For the same reason, I left open the possibilities that there could be different allocation systems, or there could be confusion at work.

I also (foolishly) hoped that by being neutral I could avoid getting sidetracked by folks who don't have any information to contribute but just want to preach the gospel of the lying scumbag dealer.

Obviously, that didn't work out as planned.

Sorry 🙏.
Hope things will get better for you.
I placed my order of 1x area51 color with 360-package 2022 hybrid Ford Maverick XLT on 6.29.2021.
And my build date was changed originally 3x times until 3.21.2022 the Maverick was finally being built when my local Feltman Ford dealership salesperson told me over the telephone that my "truck" will be present at the dealership to be picked up on April 13rd 2022 (may sooner 😃😊😺).
I wanted to change adding a few things like changing the XLT package included standard cruise control to the adaptive cruise control but I didn't because I know Ford Motors don't like change minds.
So I guess we get one shot at 🎯 ordering.
I am glad that after 9 months my is finally being built.
Best of luck everyone.

Today I tried the online chat function. After giving them all my info, they wrote back confirming that my order code was delivered to my local dealership on March 22nd at 1:55. ... I immediately called me dealer [who] confirmed again that I was getting rolled over to a 2023. ... Ford Customer service ... confirmed my order is still in the system awaiting production and doesnt have a VIN yet.
Wow! That's amazing!
  • Ford Chat says your order has been delivered
  • Your Ford dealer says it has been rolled over to MY23
  • Ford Customer Service says it's in queue awaiting production.
Are there any possibilities left for someone else to tell you? It's almost like they are gaslighting you by giving you every possible different explanation of what is happening with your Maverick.

I know you firmly believe that your order has been rolled over to MY 2023. But If I were in your position, I wouldn't know what to think at this point.

Yes, I had a Lariat hybrid ordered 10/27 and my dealer was told the same thing by Ford. Mine will not be built as a MY22 but hopefully roll over to MY23.

Why am I asking? Mainly because @Mite-o-Dan's dealer told him in January that he (the dealer) had zero hybrid allocations for the rest of the year. While my own communications with three different dealers describe a system where dealers get new allocations almost every month but don't know in advance what they will get.

I'm wondering if there are two different allocation systems or if there is just some confusion here.
Most allocation programs are monthly, not yearly

Considering how Ford underestimated the ratio of EB to HB 60/40 vs 40/60, I could see how they might have a problem building all the hybrids. But I have to believe they cut off the orders for the HB so early when they realized they were at the planned production numbers, so they should be able to build them. I would wait it out. At the very worst, you would be rolled over to a MY23 with your original order date, unless there are some shenanigans going on.

Thanks. I understand that. But that's not what I'm asking.

I'm trying to find out if anyone (other than @Mite-o-Dan) has been told by their dealer that allocations are annual (and maybe that they have run out for the year).

If other dealers are saying the same thing, then it would be worthwhile to find out why. But if @Mite-o-Dan is the only one hearing it, then seems more likely that his dealer is giving out bad information.

I believe I heard that they stopped taking orders for the 2022 models in early November due to an overwhelming response. They have enough orders to take them to the start of the 2023 models! Unfortunate that your dealership didn't know this!
