My order is from Mid-October for a Hybrid Hot Pepper Red XLT with the only add-on being a Trailer-Hitch Connector. The Ford Rep claims my order is: "Unscheduled - Balance Out". "This means the order will not be produced because the model year has balanced out." I just contacted my sales guy at the dealership by email. No response yet.

Thoughts? Has this happened to anyone else?

*** EDIT: My sales contact at the dealer called me to let me know that the truck is still on order and everything looks good with it. He said it will not be a MY2022 because of the Hybrid engine constraint. It is being rolled over to MY2023 and he claims the truck will be built (eventually). Time will tell. ***

I wonder if that was due to the order never being authenticated fully by the dealer. Did you get a signed copy of the order (DORA) and did you provide your DL or other ID.?

Jeff i had this to happen to me when i changed my "Trim" level from x l t to a Lariat.My dealer did not know this would balance-out my order but it did so the dealer rep reached out to the ford regional rep to go back to a X L T but he said he could not.

Yes, I did in fact sign and provide ID. I have a copy as well. My order has been in processing status with Ford since October.

Well then I don’t have a clue. If all was done correctly before the cutoff dates that truck should be scheduled either as a 22MY or moved to a 23MY with price protection.

I think you need to press the dealer for more information.

Tim spoke once about orders that were unscheduled, unclean, would be balanced out. Was your order showing as clean when you called Ford Customer Service?

Can you elaborate on clean vs unclean? I have chatted with Ford Customer Service many times and the only info they were able to provide was it was in Processing status and I would receive a VIN when it is scheduled.

Well, that sucks. Since you can't place a new order until August, there's no harm trying to work through your dealer and regional rep to see if they might be able to help you. At this point, you certainly do not have anything to lose.

Man, that would really leave a bad taste in my mouth...

Do follow up with your dealer and reach out to Ford again as well. "Balance Out" would generally apply to the end of the model year; MY 2022 production is expected to continue through the summer into the fall. That rep may have been mistaken or looked at the wrong customer's order.
