That's another thing GM got wrong. They took a full size car (Malibu) AC unit and married it to a 4 cylinder. I had to turn the AC off to shift gears. The rpm's would drop like a rock in between shifts.
GOOD TIMES!
They also married that big old turbo hydramatic 3 speed xmission to the engine. What a combination of parts! it must have been like hey what do we have a lot of here at the plant - hey looks its one from this and one from that let's slap something together and get it out the door. Then they tried to fool people by slapping a new grille and an 'Astre' logo on the Pontiac version. yep - good times all the way, if you didn't own one of these gems...you missed all the fun :}

Reposting I still have not seen anything that leads this article to the Maverick except the imagination of the administrator who modified my post.
I have asked him to remove the picture or replace Maverick with Explorer. Others have asked him to remove the whole thread. Why he would do something bogus like that is beyond me unless he misunderstood the article. Others have requested the thread be removed.

Clicks of the mouse means revenue for forums and this forum has made a lot of money with this false information and has stirred up a lot of anxiety and anger among the members.

This is the last post to this thread for me, I'm moving on.

This from the Detroit Free Press on 3/13:
News of a plan to ship additional Ford vehicles [in addition to Explorer] without chips was disclosed by Andrew Frick, Ford vice president of sales in the U.S. and Canada, during a meeting at the annual National Automotive Dealers Association (NADA) Show in Las Vegas on Saturday. Automotive News first reported news of the meeting.
It doesn’t say Maverick, but doesn’t exclude it either. So this tread IS based on news relevant to Maverick. YOBY has his head in the sand.

You are incredible. You keep going back to some generalized statement made at the NADA conference on Saturday with no mention of the Maverick or any other vehicle, but to you all vehicles must be included because of some blanket statement. Why don't you acknowledge the fact that the Detroit Press asked for clarification from Ford and a Bonified Spokesperson as quoted by the Detroit Press said the only vehicles affected were the Explorer and the F150.

You are part of the problem with the internet, you like to attack, but have no valid arguments or provide any proof.

All you are doing is showing people where you head is and it's not in the sand.

Now You Have a Pleasant Evening

And story goes on further to say that Wall Street wants Ford to do this. Who do you think Ford will respond to, Wall Street or customers?

@fordvideoguy just covered the news he received from the Brand Manager. He also reviewed the memos, articles and stories on the general topic. The video is only half an hour instead of the usual 1.5 hours. I'd rehash what he put out, but I can't elaborate on the subject as well as him.

TL;DR it pertains to a few features on a few models and it's ONLY in the discussion stage.

Yes.... @fordvideoguy just said it has NOT been implemented (at least for the maverick) yet if at all......time will tell...

I think @fordvideoguy is merely conduit for those of us that are a bit frustrated with the minutia concerning delays....just sayin.....

I think you're wrong and if you got in on this thread from the beginning you would know that. The Admin deleted and modified so many posts on the first three pages of this thread.

Tim at LM is using his sales skills on everyone. He is a salesman he is not doing his videos out of the kindness of his heart.

He has June and July buyers who are getting pissed because other dealers orders jump ahead of his long line due to LM not having enough allocations. Tim should have known it would be a problem to grab too many orders that should have gone to other dealers around the country. There are Bronco orders from 2020 still not delivered.

I would be very upset if I was at the grocery store owned by Ford in a check out line and they let shoppers keep cutting in front of me over and over...and over.

I ordered a Mav hybrid LUX 360 on June 17 and took delivery Jan 21 from my dealer 3 miles away at msrp + only a $85 doc fee. I thought I set the wait record. Commenter Kim Texas took delivery of her Lariat Jan 3. There are many more examples of people who are already driving their truck without facing the decision to compromise their builds.

To stop this mess, Ford needs to eliminate the allocation system that favors dealers and schedule by date of order no matter which dealer you used.

I viewed this thread from the start and saw all posts.....don't think @fordvideoguy created as clickbait. He works for a dealership, trying to maximize customer sales and is doing whatever he thinks is advantageous for sales. If there is any fault it is with Ford and the allocation system that appears to be a little wonky given all considered with this and other popular models during a constrained parts/build situation.

I'm most likely going to pass if Ford tells me I am going to drive my new truck without all the working parts. Waiting 6 months to get a truck I've already compromised on to try to get it sooner and then be short changed. I can't believe people are ok with this. I guess we shall see what happens with mine when I finally get a build date.
