We just returned from our first camping trip with our Hybrid Maverick in tow.
We towed it on our dolly with the truck turned off, e-brake turned off, not in tow mode.
When I got into the truck for the first time, I was greeted with a barrage of error messages. Anything from E-Brake fault over antilock brake fault to pre-collision assist not available. ABS light is on too.
After driving a few yards everything resets and the truck acts normal again.
Anyone here that might have an idea what is going on?

Did you read the manual? If I recall correctly, only the hybrid can be towed...or maybe only the ecoboost...only one of them anyway. I see you have a first edition, but can't tell what drivetrain.

I am sure others that are planning to tow their Maverick will chime in with actually relevant follow-up :ROFLMAO:

Dolly towing is available on all FWD Mavericks. Was the key on/off during the tow?

Little guess....

It is very possible that you tripped wheel speed sensors, or other sensors, by not having the vehicle in the proper configuration to tow it. The hybrid Maverick can be flat-towed but there are a couple of simple steps you need to take in order to set it up that way. Even though you had the front wheels off the ground you still (likely) needed to do the flat-tow procedures per the Owner's Manual.

Driving it a bit would have cleared any sensor faults. If they don't come back (issue isn't replicated) you are fine.

Anecdotally; we had a Chevrolet Colorado that would do the same thing and it ended up being the tilt/angle sensors for the ignition disable, all part of the anti-theft system. When lifted on either end while off it would think it was getting "stolen" and would flip out.

LOL
Yes, I read the manual.
In the first line of my post, I stated that we have the Hybrid. Hmm?
And it doesn't look like that anymore either. Went through a carwash and what they say about the decals is true. Oups.
Anyhow, the Hybrid is the only version that can be flat towed. Since it's also FWD, it should also be able to be towed on a dolly with e-brakes off.

That's maybe where the problem is located.
No key, push-button.
In the off position with e-brakes turned off.
For the heck of it, I since tried tow mode on the dolly. Again no damage was done but boy did that confuse the computer.

Yup, I did try tow mode for a few miles since. It freaked out the computer because the rear wheel sensors are reporting but the front sensors are not.

I really should be able to tow it front wheels on the dolly just like the EcoBoost version. With the e-brake turned off.
Maybe he does think he is getting stolen. lol
I have not been able to find anyone at Ford that can explain this to me. I will keep trying though.

You should be able to dolly tow with no key the ignition at all. The steering column does not lock, so strap it on and. I would follow what the manual shows for the FWD Ecoboost, the pic is from page 287 of the manual. BTW my wife’s FWDFusion is keyeless ignition, we drive it into the dolly, turn it off, strap it in, make the e-brake isn’t set and drive away.

What I thought too.
Something to consider though is that our Maverick has a push button and e-brakes.

Not sure you have seen earlier post on Flat Towing the Maverick Hybrid (can not flat tow the EcoBoost), might want to consider versus on a dolly. The first link below is the official pamphlet from Ford that states the hybrid can be towed 4-wheels down. The second link is from the Maverick Owners Manual that tell you have to position the CVT so the hybrid can be flat towed.

I specifically ordered the hybrid so I can flat tow behind my RV.

Good morning! Could you please send us a private message with your VIN and dealership information? I would like to look into these error concerns for you on my end. Thanks!

Ja, I know all that. It just baffles me that I get all these errors when dolly towing. Even with the push-button start and e-brakes, you should be able to dolly tow without any issue.
Even the official towing guide for wreckers states you can tow the hybrid front off the ground and e-brakes disengaged.
We already had the dolly, and Roadmaster and Blueox just now are coming out with a kit. Neither is really available anywhere at the moment. I looked. lol
I guess we will be flat towing sooner than we thought.

At this point these copy-paste replies are making your account look like a bot.

UPDATE!

Well, it looks like I have figured it out.
Here is what I did:
Pretty much the same as before. And remember! We have the start button. No key in the ignition.
Truck on the dolly,
turned off,
turn on accessory mode,
turn off e-parking-brake,
turn off accessory mode,
now comes what I did differently,
I did not lock the truck.
When we arrived at the campground the was no bitching from the computer whatsoever.

Could it really be something simple like not to lock the truck?
I guess we will find out Sunday when we drive home.

Wow interesting! Just joined the club and seen this post. Exact same issue with my lariat Maverick. Loaded it on our tow dolly no issues get to the final destination and same set of messages you are experiencing. I had a 2021 Chevy trailblazer that did a similar thing when I dolly towed it the first time. However I forgot to disconnect the battery which stopped all error messages.. I wonder if disconnecting the battery would solve that error messages in the maverick while dolly towing?
