So my whole experience of ordering this Maverick has been a huge pain in the rear. Initial order was placed late at the dealership (two weeks after I initially asked). Then, I never received any email confirming that my order had been placed and the dealership couldn't confirm for me whether it had been. A nice poster on this forum set me up with the following number (1-800-334-4375) to call Ford Customer Service, who confirmed the order had been placed. This was ~3 weeks after the initial order (Oct 28th, 2021).

Since then I have been calling the above number 1-2 times a month to check on vehicle progress, because the dealership is still completely in the dark. Just today I was FINALLY told that I've received a VIN. But that I should have received an email informing me of this (I didn't) so that I could trigger the build scheduling process with my dealership. I then call my dealership and inform them that I have received a VIN. They tell me that I dont have one yet, I reiterate that I have the VIN # in hand from FORD themselves and they then take down the info as if confused about what to do with it.

Do I now need to rely upon this dealership following up to schedule the build date? Is it normal to not receive any email communications regarding updates like VIN allocations?

I am quite irritated with the process, but none the less incredibly excited at the prospect of receiving my Maverick.

Anyone else have similar experience?
Call Ford back and make sure they have your email#. That is what I did and I have now received 4 emails from Ford. Each email has made a change in the production date, but at least they know who I am.

Call more often! If you don't call at least once every 3-4 days they think you don't care.

That's probably why your "build scheduling process" hasn't been triggered!!!!!!!!!1!1

The more you call, the faster your truck will be in your driveway. It's common sense.

Here's how my Hybrid XL Velocity Blue went.
Ordered 07/23, got email from Ford that day saying ordered.
12/09 got email from Ford saying build week to be week of 02/07 with VIN also
01/29 got email from Ford saying build week changed to week of 02/21
02/26 got email from Ford saying built!
Salesman has contacted me each day that I've received the email from Ford also.
Salesman was able to provide me with a "full history" report that shows all this plus more, like when it went from built to "Body Company" for the SIBL. (FYI: built, to Body Company and back and to train for shipping all on the same day)
note: Dealer may not want to give the "Full History" report, may be confidential from Ford but see if you can get it.
NOW for the crazy part, I'll sell it for $28K if anyone interested. I want to buy an Escape Hybrid instead....yes...another very long wait for sure.

My goodness that sounds like it went smooth as butter in terms of communication and notification. Exact opposite of my experience!

And whats got you wanting to sell it? Just a good flip?

Every time I call Ford to lookup the vehicle progress they ask for the email address associated with the order. And I give it to them, and it works for confirming the order. They also always say its odd that I've never received an email, but do not mention a fix, lmfao.

Fabulous right

Have you checked all your email folders??? Particularly. Your spam folder. You are probably getting the emails since they apparently have your correct email since you use it to verify your identity when you call in. ???

I couldn't pass up the Mav, to have a new vehicle for such a low price was hard to pass up. Didn't really need a pickup but wasn't opposed to having one so I ordered the Hybrid XL with only Co-Pilot, a hitch and SIBL. lf I can sell it for $5K more than I pay for it I can add another $3K and get a better optioned Hybrid Escape. Escape would fit better in garage anyway. Wife and I are retired, I only drove 2,500 miles last year so no reason to spend a lot for another vehicle. If I get the $5K I'll have a new $31K-32K Hybrid Escape for around $25K.....if I don't get $5k then I have a Mav for around 22.5K. A win/win either way. It's a Great dealership and Salesman to work with, always has been.

All of my dates are pretty similar to yours, however I haven't actually received mine yet. Shipped about 3 weeks ago, but I'm on the east coast and the ETA is March 10-16th. When did you actually receive yours, and where are you located?

Holy hell, miss information above is overflowing.

1. If you have a VIN (not vin number or vin #) your truck is scheduled to be built. Someone said that in the next couple days but this is not accurate, could be anytime in the next couple months. No one “triggers” a build date.

2. Track your order here. You need the 4 digit sales order number from your order preview and VIN. The system is wonky at times and you may need to reset your cache if you check it numerous times. If you don’t have a copy of your order preview good luck working with your clueless dealer.

3. Not a smooth process, but people have orders from June and haven’t gotten a build date yet. I strongly recommend calming down.

4. If the dealer didn’t place your email on the order you won’t get them. If they spelled it wrong you wont get them. No matter what other emails you get from Ford your not linked to the order so you won’t get them. Ford corporate can’t add you. Lastly, some times emails just aren’t going through to select few people.

Im on my 3rd dealer and 4th order. 1st dealer did a mark up and I had to walk. The second got my order in as a compelte wrong build. Third order fell out of time. My final order from Mid October is just waiting for a build date that may never come. I started my process in June. I haven’t talked to a dealer since January to add the hitch to my order.

Haven't received it yet, supposed to arrive between 03/20 and 03/26, train depot is in Kansas City, I'm near St. Louis so it will be truck transported from Kansas City. Looks like you're about a week ahead of me, now we're both waiting for truck transport from rail yard.
