In my case:
My local dealer wanted: $33,929.50.
Chapman Ford wants: $30,030.00
Drop Ship: $200.00
Difference: $3,699.50

Going with Chapman Ford (out of state) was a good deal for me.

Mine was a similar savings, except that I'll pick it up and drive it back. Little road trip vacay.
Other savings is that I don't have to deal with the local sales tactics, so the headache and ease and transparency of transaction makes it worth it.

Understood. I would have to fly, catch a train or drive from Florida to PA. Get a hotel somewhere as well. Then put all them miles on my new truck. Plus if I drove, the wife would have had to drive back and that would have put 2,800 miles round trip on the new Lexus.

It was with the $200 to drop ship it. The only way I'll NOT take the truck is if it's damaged.

Price Comparison of [Out-of-State @ 96% Invoice] vs. [In-State @ MSRP] for a XL W/ Some Options

FROM:

Left Hand Side [Invoice]/ Right Hand Side [MSRP].

19,595.00/ 19,995.00 XL Crew Cab FWD (100A)
739.00/ 795.00 Power Tilt/ Slide Moon Roof [43L]
93.00/ 100.00 Trailer Hitch Receiver W /4-Pin Connector [60B]
140.00/ 150.00 400W Inverter W/ 1-Location (Cab Only) [47K]
502.00/ 540.00 Ford Co-Pilot360TM [86B]
144.00/ 155.00 Manual Rear Sliding Window [55D]
--------- --------
21,213.00 21,735.00

21,213.00 x.96 = 20,365.00

20,365.00 21,735.00
1,495.00 1,495.00 Delivery Fee [FoMoCo]
--------- ---------
21,859.00 23,230.00
300.00 N/A Courtesy Delivery Fee [Local Dealer]
--------- --------
22,159.00 23,230.00 Total [not including Dealer specific (e,g, Doc Fees, etc) and/or state dependent (e.g. Tax, Tag, Title, etc.) and/or individual specific (e.g. Discount Plans, Etc.) dependent cost]

22,159.00 @ 96% Invoice vs. 23,230.00 @ MSRP = $1,071.00 [SAVINGS]

Everything else is state/ individual dependent ... Tax, Tag, Title, ... Doc Fees,... Discount Plans,... other, etc.

This is for a Base XL Model with a few options ... as you go to higher trims with more options the Return On Investment (ROI) from going with an Out-Of-State Dealer may be better.

QUESTION: Is the added logistic complexity + a (potential) roughly $1K non-refundable deposit [in case of vehicle rejection to return vehicle from delivery point to selling dealer] worth $1,071.00 in savings?
Well, you pret'near built my order. I did go with the XLT and spray bed liner, so my totals are a bit different.
When you consider dealing with a sales person, at a local dealership, you have to also consider they are determined to get you to pay the Added Dealer Markup & the Ridiculous Item Added Sticker in addition to MSRP. I figured I would NEVER geto close to invoice, much less be 4% below dealing with a local, so figure I am WAY ahead, and the difference calculated is the minimum I would have paid.
So, yeah, it is worth a bit of complexity. The selling dealer is out-of-state, but the delivering dealer is 20-30 miles away. I will be surprised if there is anything that would make me reject the vehicle as delivered unless it had serious damage... or ???

IN MY CHASE,
My local dealer wanted $30,255 plus $2,500 mark up on the MSRP for a total of $32,755
There doc fee of $700 and $1,000 nonrefundable deposit total of $ 1,700
total of $34,455

Out of state dealer ( Chapman Ford ) 4% below invoice price total of $28,211
There doc fee of $394 and drop ship fee of $200 total $ 594
drop ship dealer is only 18 miles from my house total $28,805

Savings from buying from out of state versus local dealership total $ 5,650

NO BRAINER FOR ME SAVING OVER $5,000 TO BUY FROM CHAPMAN FORD VERSUS LOCAL DEALER.
And by the way Chapman has me a built date of Sept. 13th. week already, no telling when my local dealer would have this for me.
WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK I SHOULD DO, LOCAL OR CHAPMAN ?

FYI...We are discontinuing the dropship/CD offer as of 8/10/21...

Any order we placed & discussed with a drop ship/CD will be honored...anything going forward we will not drop ship...

Too many people complaining about the drop ship charge if they don't want to purchase it...

The higher the build Lariat, etc. the more savings. The more money to take off MSRP for invoice price, then 4% off that. I saved a little over twice what you did but I’m doing a Lariat with all packages, etc., so it’s pretty heft pricing and add ons for a Maverick.

Welcome Back. Hope you had a great vacation.

Can you provide any updates on Scheduled and Allocation Numbers? It would be nice to know that we are so far down the list we won't get scheduled for awhile. But then again, not knowing the allocation numbers we could get selected any time.

Please share what you can with an update. Thanks in advance.

Hi! i did! thank u so much!...ill provide this info anytime...

keep in mind they are going to build all of them at some point...

so far we have 19 scheduled...all 2.0 engines...

we have 30 to preview this week (assuming they dont shut down previewing this week for Maverick)...all the SIM orders (orders Ford fills the order bank with) are 2.0, but that doesnt mean they will only pull 2.0...

1 out of every 5 orders customers placed with me are 2.0...

I guess all good things have to come to an end. People see what happens when someone complains a lot. Tom "THANKS" for what you have done so far for us already with a order with you.
