Among the current Maverick buyers, there are two major kinds, the "true" trucker people, and the casual/commuting replacement people.
I consider myself as in the second group. One thing I have hoped Maverick is less plastic and a little refined interior.
So, the question is, will Maverick follow Explorer/Sport Trac, Branco/Branco Sport to create Maverick/Maverick Sport two product lines? There may be not enough time for 2023. But 2024? And which major features to differentiate the two lines?

Considering the Bronco's aren't actually the same vehicle (Different platforms), I doubt in.

Even if they did, I think you'll find the current Maverick would end up actually being the Maverick Sport, with the second Maverick being for the "True Trucker."

Well it looks like Bronco Sport and Maverick will be joined by a Transit Connect van, so you have a 'sporty', 'utility' and 'family' all on the same C2 architecture.
Not sure if the new van will be like the current Transit Connect, or a Maverick version of the Chevy HHR van idea (will they do van style sliding doors or just rear Maverick doors)? Would like to see sliding side doors and a hybrid power train with a Mav inspired nose.

If there ends up being a Maverick Sport, it's going to be a package or trim like it is for Explorer/F150. Not a different vehicle. Kinda like an ST appearance package.

Gets you some sportier looking wheels, some red trim pieces, embroidered seats, rear bedside decals, maybe the B&O sound system, maybe another interior color. It might be available on XLT and Lariat, or its own actual trim level.

Just MHO.

I doubt it. If they do anything they will make the hybrid with a AWD option and or plug in hybrid but probably neither until the refresh.

Other than maybe a Maverick Raptor and the three trim levels already, the only other possible version I could see might be a Maverick-based SUV. I have seen a couple renderings already. A couple of them look OK. I would think that a Mav-SUV would make the Escape obsolete.

Those have drastically more room than an escape or bronco sport.

They have said they are eyeballing a Maverick brand. To me that sounds like a few different vehicles. The truck maverick, the rattler truck(offroad), maverick escape suv(that name combo kind of works), maverick escape max(larger like the renderings, maverick van(not sure about names, i like econoline like the 60s ones), and potentially a maverick st that would be a hipo sport model, probably with a high zoot hybrid and like 350hp.

Hybrids could be available across the board with these as well as regular IC. I think it makes sense to wait for the EVs on these since they would all be the more economical Fords already. Focus on electrifying the bigger trucks, vans, and suvs in mass. Then in about 4 or 5 years redesign this platform to be both IC and EV.

I believe the next version of the Maverick will be a EV with a MACH-e under the hood.

That’s a possibility. At the other end of the range, government and other fleet users need a basic vehicle and I know for sure that agencies all over CA would buy those up.

Now that Ford is splitting the company between EV and ICE both could be available like the F-150.

Would like to see a body on frame mini truck so we could fit true 33's and hardcore suspensions and do some proper wheeling
