Maverick console - What is the slot below the shifter for?

Credit card, or Toll Road card, or parking pass card.... whatever card. And only the Hybrid comes with the special card slot.

I find myself overly impressed that they thought of this minor feature. I can't tell you how many times I've lost my parking pass in between the windshield and dash.

The 'slot' directly below it is where your fingers go to pull and engage the parking brake. To the right are two cup holders. Behind that is a general purpose hole, usually for coins or chapstick or whatever. The forward compartment looks like its general purpose/for phones.

Man oh man........some really far out questions. Doesn't anybody read the manual before posting a question? With that being said, there are some really great answers also. I've been reading the manual and haven't come across the manual gas door emergency switch. I'm probably the dummy that would just pull on it and hope for the best, except now I've read the really smart answer. Seriously, find and read the manual, there is a lot of useful information in it AND a lot of don't do this kind of stuff. So as soon as I get my truck I'll kind of know what all the little thing a ma jigs are for.

I believe a parking pass slot is not uncommon in cars in Europe. Pretty sure that's what it is, does it say in the manual? I don't remember it being in there but don't have quick access right now.

That would be handy. I had a similar slot on the dash of a Sonic I once had. It was very convenient for holding my ID to get on base. I have the button addition.
