I've lived in 6 states, mostly in citys, and am 37 years old and have yet to actually see a car with its wheels stolen, or known someone first hand that has had their wheels stolen. Im not concerned. But Im sure you will get a overly biased opinion of rampant theft on here.

probably not, many on this site are replacing the stock Maverick wheels with something else, the replacements might have a shot of being stolen.

I had my wheels stolen 3 separate times before the age of 24. Granted it hasn't happened again in the proceeding 15yrs since I moved out of California.

I lived in San Diego in a van in 2003. I had really nice mag Western Turbine wheels on my van. Living in a van I usually hid in sketchier neighborhoods. Sorry thats wild.

It happens occasionally. I take off my wheel locks anyway - if they want the rims it's not like they can't get the correct lug wrench. Your vehicle will be scouted out before it's hit.

That is crazy, what did you drive?

'00 Honda Civic Si which I bought after getting my first big boy job after undergrad. Stock rims were stolen within a few days of buying it; taken off my car in a university parking lot. Got out of class and it was sitting on a spare tire and the brake rotors. A handful of months later the aftermarket wheels were stolen from my work parking lot. A few months later the 2nd set of aftermarket wheels were stolen after they somehow got into my garage (along with the stereo). A few months after that the entire car was stolen from my work parking lot (blessing in disguise). All in less than a year.

I consider myself fortunate that I learned that lesson at a young age. I'll never buy another car that other people really covet, regardless of my financial ability to do so...especially if those other people are Fast & Furious wannabe gangs.
