At the end of the day- pondering the $900 ish savings when drop shipping a vehicle, I think this raises the stress level a bit in the case the vehicle that arrives has any damage and is somehow mis-optioned/etc
Everyone has different expectations, but your vehicle is getting drop shipped regardless. The CD is going to do all the cleanup, inspection, etc. if you don’t like it, refuse delivery and wait for another.

the only difference is that you may see an acceptable vehicle on the lot, but since the hybrids are all going to be BTO for a while I seriously doubt it.

that’s the thing, until the orders are complete there will be no sellable hybrids on lots of the Mavericks. If you do see one, it is because someone else rejected it.
Now that will change eventually, but probably not this year.

I'm buying local because they said MSRP and I' don't see a big bargain for me to order from back east to Idaho... maybe $800, For $800 I'll keep it local even if they don't deserve it.
One doesn't communicate well at all..
and one has no idea what's going on but thinks he does..... (Typical Ford Dealership) He says they are not scheduling yet ?????? He wanted to argue about it and I want my Maverick sooner than later so I dropped it... plus I need a decent deal on my trade-in (At least KBB avg.) to keep my payment low.
Sorry, probably more info than ya need :)

I hear that- In Salt Lake trying to finalize this nonsense. Every time I go back to B/P I find something else I gotta have- Local dealer seems responsive/knowledgeable for the most part and offering dealer invoice pricing-

No, it is exactly the kind of anecdotal story I want to get.
If there were the option of selling your vehicle (when you say KBB I assume you mean Black book, as blue book to a dealer would be amazing) to the CD after all they are a dealer themselves and likely would take the trade, would that make a difference?
PA doc Fees and 200 CD are my only add on fees quite frankly I would be paying at least 100 in doc fees anyway so my out of area premium is only 400. It is also true that my CD is only 45 minutes down the road practically local and closer than most of my doctors.

thank you for sharing.

Back iin the day(around 1977) I drove for Rick Warner Ford.... Lived in SLC 1977-1981 .. Chapman beats by $1360 thats a Chunk I'm only getting MSRP here which I was happy with but $1360.. but of course the shipping would eat right into that

why are you guys all looking at shipping? Is it because there is no close by CD in your area? The Chapman trucks will never go to PA, they will go to the CD. In my case it will be loaded on a train in Mexico, get dropped at the terminal in Atlanta (which is in Mableton I think) and then be trucked maybe 12 miles to Wade Ford for final inspection and delivery. No additional delivery charge, just the PA Doc fees and the $200 CD which is billed internally to Chapman

What? They don't go to the Dealer first ?? and then reship to the CD ??

Nope. The CD is at a dealer and is usually the leasing officer. They get to the CD just as though the CD ordered it themselves.

I think this is an area of confusion for many. My truck will never see PA unless I drive it there myself (or go up north on the car train)

I tried to go local, even placed an order, they're too incompetent to know how to get my order verified so I went way out of state, had my order verified the same day, saving a few hundred. Selling my trade to carvana since they pay way more than dealerships.
