The assumption here is that Ford won't be able to fill (almost) all the orders. That may be true, but it may not. If Ford cut off ordering (almost) in time, then they will be able to fill (almost) all the orders -- possibly minus some options. We don't know if they did, but we'll find out eventually.

The allocation issue seems to me more related to when an order will be filled than it is to if an order will be filled. Ford's memo says: "the priority for remaining production will go to unscheduled Maverick retail orders." To me, that means that they are attempting to match production to existing retail orders and that the trucks will eventually go to those retail orders regardless of any allocation scheme.

It's hard for me to believe that Ford would say "Yes, you have the orders. And, yes, we have the trucks. But we're not going to send them to you because you don't have allocation."

I can't say that for sure, but when I read the memo that is what I see.
The question is if Ford's estimated build capacity per month was estimated correctly. In November, everyone was saying that Ford was RAMPING up production.. possibly double. If I remember correctly December was a decrease in production (Christmas) and January really wasn't all that much better and I'm suspecting that February won't be good either. It's very possible that they won't even be close.

We’ll how they going to roll over my First Edition RR Hybrid, Lariat Luxury Edition to a 23? Hell, it wouldn’t be a first edition would it?
Wondering this myself. I'm a late September First Edition order with no build date yet.

Or we just wait an unknown duration again for a 2023… because allocations.
There is any easy cure for "allocations" if you have to roll your order into 2023. Just order the same thing from a bunch of dealers, large or small near or far.
As long as you are not putting out a bunch of cash then why not?

True. I had to put down $1000 here… I could do a few dealers if necessary and refundable but it still seems like a flaw in their system.

Nope. I have a receipt from the deposit. And I've confirmed multiple times that they have the order. But I've never gotten one communication FROM Ford. Or my dealer, for that matter.
Just call Ford and have them confirm your order, it only takes a few minutes.

The confirmation doesn't mean it will get built, but it tells you your order is in the system.

Can you let me know what number you called to get the Maverick Support Group at Ford?? Much thanks.

A true customer oriented approach would be for Ford to send each customer who has a valid order that is not yet scheduled, a personalized email advising the likelihood that the order will be scheduled in MY2022 and offering incentives to holding the order versus bailing to buy a Tacoma or Ridgeline. I see this as a great opportunity to build some significant customer loyalty and goodwill in a difficult situation. It is in the spirit of what Delta Airlines has done for its customers by extending liberal cancellation and change policies. I have $1000 down at this point on my order. What will happen to that if I am moved to MY 2023?

My order:

2022 Maverick LARIAT All-Wheel Drive:
  • 2.0L EcoBoost Engine
  • 8-Speed Automatic Transmission
  • Hot Pepper Red Tinted Clearcoat Metallic
  • Desert Brown ActiveX Bucket Front-Seats
  • 18" Bright Aluminum Wheels
  • Standard Package
  • Lariat Luxury Package
  • Ford Co-Pilot360™
Great point. Also someone else mentioned earlier say Granger takes 1300 deposits knowing they’ll likely only get a fraction of those vehicles that year, we the public basically are being asked to give dealers rolling, interest free loans - we need some sort of benefit for this, such as being top of cue the next model year.

Yea I'm hoping my August order gets going. For some reason they still seem to keep saying that dropping my bed extender will push back my order - when this email clearly says it can only help.
I have two orders in, but one was a November 1st order with Chapman. I have no belief that I will see that one come in before my first one. I changed the color of it and it was like pulling teeth with them. They told me the same thing not to do it because it could push it back. I told them I'm probably not getting it this year anyways so I don't care, just do it. Finally got them to update it. I think they are just swamped over there and don't want to do any extra work.

They* literally just sent me the same email - "If you change it, you push back the chances of getting a MY22." I cant see how taking off a bed extender is too much work OR how it will push back my potential for a MY22 considering the constraints.

I have tried not to email them too much since I'm sure they are swamped, but it cant be too hard to take off a single item is it? (I genuinely don't know how hard it is).

Im nervous to ask her to please do it, I feel like they will just hold back the order and give me the "I told you so" later in MY23. Think I am just going to see if she can please take it off.

Tim Bartz addressed this in his latest YouTube video and your sales woman is incorrect. I suggest watching it and then relaying that Info to your dealer.

Yeah, I've only emailed maybe 3 or 4 times since I ordered. She just made the change for me last week and I also have a bed extender I was thinking about dropping. Don't know if I want to poke the bear again so soon...

I thought changing your order didn't change your place in the queue? I placed my initial order in August and added 4K towing in December thinking it wouldn't set me back :(

It shouldn't from the info I have gathered. They just keep telling me that. :(
